hehe i hav the funsub version never i hav never seen it pa..... is HnG good
?
@animelover
I've seen the anime2001 set; I think this is the set that's being sold at that online anime dvd store that looks legit (but it actually isn't).Like a lot of pirated dvds these days, it is well-packaged.
I honestly wouldn't recommend this set for folks who don't know any Japanese or Chinese. I think it would just frustrate them. But if you just want to see the anime (don't need subtitles, know some Japanese or have read the manga), the set is quite clear.
I have a few eps of the fansub version. Really very hard to download HnG anime these days. I would recommend fansub version over the pirated version eventhough it is very hard to find.
@Maximilian Grave
It's an actual game (not a computer game). ^^ Just head over to Animaxis.com & pick HnG merchandise.
As for bittorrent... please go to Google & search for box torrents. The Istorya mods will edit my post if I link directly to bittorent sites so go through Google na lang.
@jamilao
HnG is very nice. ^^ The manga is definitely better than the anime. A lot funnier. Not all of Sai's funny manga moments were included in the anime. (Awww.... why not? @@ Wants more of Sai!)
There's a very nice big Sai illustration book over at Animaxis; am still debating whether I'm crazy enough to buy it.
yeah, medyo passive man ang role ni sai sa anime. he only lights up when shindou(hope sakto) doesn't want to play or when he gets his chance to play a match.
@yen I've downloaded the fansubbed version up to episode only. I stopped coz of someone's negative remark regarding how the anime's ending is different from the manga (Well, it was stopped abruptly, but I liked it as it is in the manga). How true is that?
@animelover
What did this person say exactly?
The anime is (in my opinion) quite faithful to the manga. Not as close as how the Naruto anime followed the manga, but pretty close. They certainly didn't do like what was done to YuGiOh.
The only big difference between the anime & manga is that the anime doesn't include that big tournament with the Korean players. Think it was called ?Hokuto? tournament or something.
However, there are rumours of a continuation to the anime. Perhaps OVA (or OAV...). It will be about that tournament.
(coughs) Actually, I would like the anime to be not too alike to the manga. I'm not exactly happy with what happened to you know who.![]()
If you have too much trouble downloading the fansub versions, I would recommend buying copies from a fansub distro. DVD-Rs containing about a 2 dozen eps each cost about 500 pesos. So the entire tv series will cost about 1500 pesos. This is in divx format.
^^ You can also buy in dvd format which would cost about twice the price of the divx version. I think it's a fair price, but that's just me. Folks (who can read Chinese) are usually satisfied with the HK copies, but the most accurate translations (in my opinion & experience) are the ones done by fans. Pirates just don't give as much effort (& love) into translating as fans do.
Another tip.There are dvd players which can play divx files.
Well he said that the anime ended as abruptly as the manga, but in a different scenario as that of the manga.
I'm not exactly happy that Sai disappeared too, but in my opinion, thats the only way for Hikaru to be stronger (on his own). By what you said, you meant that Sai didnt disappear yet at the end of the anime?
How many episodes are there?
AH!!!
animelover, that's a MAJOR spoiler. Edit please.
Let's just refer to that even as YKW (you know what).
The anime ends after Hikaru finally got over YKW. He recovered enough to start playing again.
I think there are 75 eps, 1 special & 1 movie.
I only really watched/enjoyed the anime & manga until up to YKW. After YKW, I only kept reading the manga hoping for YKW. With the anime, I only really paid attention to my favorite chapters from the manga. These are the Internet chapter & the Toyo Koyo VS Sai chapter. Wanted to see the anime version of these chapters. ^^ The manga is more complete than the anime. More Sai moments.
