Default I need more inputs for my T-Shirt Printing Business :)

    Hello everyone! I'm Nikki.
I'm currently in the clothing industry.

In the line of selling and printing shirts, I still lack knowledge about it.
I wonder if a few of you here are with me on the same boat and maybe you could share your inputs about shirts and more.

    For the information of everyone,
outsourcing is the strength of my business -- no printing shop.
Basically, no investments pa ko. Before shirt printing, downpayment ang mga clients then mao rana ako gamiton as capital.

Ask ta ko on how to get in the big market.
Ako target market AOTM are schools (students).

i asked my professor/tshirt tycoon about this and here's what he said:

    identify your target market.
identify your competitors in this market segment.
what are your competitive advantages against these competitors?

interested unta ko ani a few months ago but my interests drifted to another business that consumes less time. I/we didnt have the time to market our shirts because of school time constraints.

Big Market needs you to show upfront the finished inspected item..then that's the time they issue cheques for payment. There are "some" clients that you could get away with a percentage of the cost but that's up to you how you walk your talk. hope this helps.

Its a very good start bro. The younger the better.
I'm planning to teach my kid about entrepreneurship as soon as he learns how to talk..hehehh
But even now, that he is still 5 months old..we are teaching him how to use his initiatives.
In this way, the new generation are independent, more empowered & you'll have a peace of mind as a parent that he can feed his own.

i suggest you start on the basics. start small...

for your kind of market you'll have to rely on word of mouth so it is important to produce a finish product first to show why your product should be choosen above others.

then from there you can work your way up..

save your allowance so you can have some capital to produce sample works (it's just like buying yourself a shirt, only it was "your brand").. then while saving research and think of ideas on how to improve and market...

start with your friends and classmates.

as zubano suggested word of mouth is the best way to start your small business. look for contacts in schools or in offices. you should have a sample to show to your clients how good the quality is. post your buisness on school forums or any other commmunity that may made tshirt printing in their future events.

    Thanks for the replies friends.

I wonder if there are good reads here on how to face clients,
how to bid for offers, mga how to's
That's what I am so curious about. Hehe.
I know it would be so awkward facing big people (I meant by professionals..hehe)
Reality check, I'm just an 18 year old sophomore college student making them offers.
It feels so weird on my part. But I encourage myself not to be negga
since I'm making money out of it. HAHAHA.

    @kurdapia.nikki:

Don't be intimidated by professionals. Trust me, if they will see an 18-year old college student working so hard in putting up her business, they will be on your side. Professionals are the better people to deal with because they can understand you well, after all, most of them have gone the same path you're taking. Medyo kiwaw lang gyud but if you have your first sale, mawala ra na and your confidence will grow.

Akong masuggest is why not start on your own family sa or ask their help? I firmly believe that a business has a much better chance of succeeding if your family is behind you in every step of the way. For sure your parents, siblings, and relatives know somebody who needs shirts or maybe they themselves will need your services. Other than that, they could also provide you some extra cushion sa capital.

The best way to get your business up and running is to have some samples. 2 or 3 shirts will do para naa lang kay maipakita sa mga tao. Take note that most people will always prefer quality over price. Kung nindot ang quality sa imong products, price will be of second priority (of course, dapat competitive lang pud ang price). You will need samples para mapakita nimo ang quality sa imong trabaho.

Anyway, that's all that I can suggest para sa imong business. Lisod gyud na pagsugod but once naa na kay sale, sayon na na ang sunod.

first thing... "you should have a capital" lisod man mg business wala capital..
you should know your business your into... like sa printing atleast you know a little about printing (e.g. paint, materials, labor, etc.) and that should be your passion(interest) kung baga hilig para pud you have the encouragement to be successful and have fun while earning... start small... good PR jud sa mga customers hehehe
