Photoshop is great with images, while coreldraw for making graphics or drawings. I use Coreldrawa and Corel Photo paint in all my graphichal needs. :0

Photoshop and Illustrator tandem here.
works well for me.
I would like to request designers from printing firms though to atleast install illustrator, since there are a lot of designers who use AI and printing firms sometimes let me convert my submitted design into pdf because they do not have AI or do not use AI.
most adobe product are Mac base while corel draw are windows....
Adobe is more than Corel,
so Adobe is not equal to Corel...
peace
Photoshop = Adobe's bitmapped image manipulation applicationOriginally Posted by EMERALD EARTH
Corel = Graphics application suite
the terms used alone can't be compared kay different ilang meanings
we (some of the previous posters) assume you meant CorelPHOTO-Paint as the application in comparison to Adobe Photoshop since there's a bigger possibility of those two being in question rather than "CorelDRAW vs Adobe Illustrator.
gamay lang na intro nga blurred sa kadaghanan...
computer images are divided into 2 types of files
1. Vector Images
2. Bitmapped Images
vector images are stored as math equations
bitmapped images are stored as dots with color information per dot (or group of dots)
the former is good for posters, logos. etc
the latter is good for photos
combination of those two types is possible pero out of topic na ta ana
CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator were meant for Vector Images (Macromedia Freehand as well)
CorelPHOTO-PAINT and Adobe Photoshop (ug katong lite-version niya i forgot na the name coz ive been GIMP-ing the past few months na lang) were meant for Bitmapped Images (i dunno with Macromedia but i use Fireworks for bitmapped images kun wala nay lain)
ive used all said apps and i found Photoshop easier with Bitmapped Images
i use CorelDRAW and Macromedia Freehand alternately for digitizing logos/insignia
right now GIMP akong gi kat-on using Photoshop tutorials kay bawal mag Photoshop sa office (and i'm not willing to buy the US$600 Photoshop license)
for "designing" web pages, ANY graphic-manipulation program can be used
if the original poster did meant PHOTO-PAINT vs Photoshop, i'll have to stick with Photoshop
---primarily bcoz easier siya as most tutorials point at it. right now i'd have to google the "equivalent" process in GIMP for something that i found in the Photoshop tutorial that im using to learn GIMP
precisely...
but when it comes to photos and stuff I use ADOBE PHOTOSHOP rather than CorelPHOTO-PAINT...but i wanna try using GIMP...it's a freeware i've heard...is it true?
asa ta maka kita anhi corel draw tutorial na ebooks?
