Well, you can alert the other locals of what had happened. That would help others at the very least.

Get a German Shepherd bro. Tan.awon lang ba kung kinsa ba mosuway ug sulod sa balay.

great to hear the maxims going well mate.
theres some pretty good electric fences here for cattle. they wont kill you but boy do they hurt!
I crashed my dirt bike into one once and got tangled up in the wires. ouch!

Understand that these are hard times we now live in. Nobody is stopping to recognize that you are helping the poor or even serving God. Did you hear about the news na ang alahas sa Birhen gikawat? How about kadtong gikawat ang bell sa simbahan? Thieves spare no one these days -- not even God scares them anymore.

Best thing to do is to fortify. Stand outside your house and identify weak points where thieves will try to figure out ways to get in to the house. Think as if you were a thief.

Then go back into the house and fix those weak points. Personally, I think electric fences are good, but if you have kids I'd think long and hard about the risks vs reward thing. A dog is a better option -- bisan di lang gud German Shepherd basta kusug lang mopaghot. Have two dogs for good measure!

Then, it'd be good also if you have some sort of weapon -- Kamagong or rattan bunal, jungle bolo, etc -- at arm's reach at all times. You never know when you'll need it but when the time comes that you'll do, it better be some place na dali ra nimo makab-ot.

Lastly, stolen items can be replaced. Don't worry too much about it. Worry more about the safety of your family. The thieves were successful the first time. Given the same chance, they will do it again. I believe they are from your general area. How else would they know you have expensive things and shitty locks?

    Stay safe.
