What's the Difference between Cisco and Juniper?

i ask one of my friend from us that she said its more. "Strictly speaking, Juniper (16 points) is worth more in Scrabble than Cisco (9 points)" unsay pasabot niya?

anybody kinsa man kaila ani nila? i read some post here nga ang pldt daw ni gamit ani juniper.

can somebody explain the difference between this two? thanks

i heard some models of Juniper routers can kick Cisco's @$$......... lol.
not to mention Juniper routers cost less than Cisco.
but Cisco's got approx. 80% of the market share, so most of the networking jobs would be dealing with Cisco products.
I'm taking my CCNP classes in my local college right now, interesting stuff. they also offer Juniper Certification classes. I might take that class after CCNP.

they manufacture the same type of products, routers & switches, some firewalls, and what not.
routers forward ip packets, switches deal with macs and csma/cd...
so basically pretty much the same except slightly different proprietary technology behind it.
i don't know what JunOS looks like so i can't really say if it's more or less the same with Cisco IOS.

same ra na tanan routers/switches magdaog lang na sila sa features set.unya ang founders sa Juniper came from Cisco and most of their employees too.
