    @ RMK ....

How did you know na walay hazing sa Chinese military ?

Anyways .... nag wonder lang ko why such claim was made by you na LAUGHABLE ang AFP nato in terms of warfare knowledge . Did you know that we produce world class SNIPERS ? Modified a rifle that became one of the best SNIPER RIFLES in the world ? That US SPEC OPS ( Seals , Delta Force , Airbornes , Rangers , FMF's ) are learning also from the Philippine ARMY SCOUT RANGERS in terms of CONVENTIONAL , GUERILLA and JUNGLE WARFARE and SURVIVAL till today ?

Did you know that our very own Philippine Navy SWAG shares the same extensive training and HELLWEEK of the US NAVY SEALS ? That when you are called a SWAG you are basically a counterpart of the US SEALS less the technology that shares the war cry " the only easy day was yesterday " ?

    @ REPTOID ....

Have you talk to your military relatives about it ? By the way ... HAZING is not about GANGSTERS for your 411 .

Like what 7dMM said , it still boils down to being an ARMCHAIR GENERAL and its not even close about COMMONSENSE unless you yourself is in that shoe being a member of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies . We are talking about firsthand information here and not some media mileage , news articles and internet information .

Even NATGEO's " SURVIVING the CUT " is only close to the real thing but not the real thing at all .

What the video portrayed is nothing but just plain BLACK PRIOPAGANDA aimed at the AFP by the leftist organizations .

Because Springfield, there are all sorts of youtube videos that show the Chinese military doing training and none of them have any sort of the chicanery and idiocy that you see in those videos. Until you can show a video showing this kind of torture going on during Chinese military training, then I don't think you can claim that this sort of thing is going on.

Let us also keep things in perspective here. This isn't even an elite military unit being shown but a regular infantry unit. Next, snipers won't win any wars and be rest assured for every 1 excellent sniper we have, China will have 10 of them and Indonesia 5.

Black_mamba since we haven't had any wars with our neighboring country yet, I guess there's no way to show for certain just how incompetent our military is. But lets look at their track record:

    failed to defeat communist insurgency
    failed to defeat islamic insurgency
failed to protect citizens from massacre
failed to effectively repel invaders from contested territory

fail, fail, fail.. wake me up when they start winning something, anything.

    @springfield:

From Wikipedia: Hazing is a term used to describe various ritual and other activities involving harassment, abuse or humiliation......

In Russia the victim of a high-profile hazing attack, Andrei Sychyov required the amputation of his legs and genitalia after he was forced to squat for three hours whilst being beaten and tortured by a group on New Year's Eve 2005. The brutal attack on Sychyov, and its horrific consequences highlighted the widespread problem of dedovshchina - or hazing - in the Russian armed forces.
    ------------------------------------

You talk about not understanding without being in that situation. Well, I am a scholar of economics and yet I've never worked at a bank so I don't buy that theory & I'm pretty sure recruits didn't sign up to be abused. Also I can see no benefits and only downsides to this needless cruelty ie troops will quit, desert or maybe even develop mental health issues. In fact it was not long ago that a Philippine soldier snapped and murdered his commanding officer after being routinely dragged feet first out of his bed.

President Eisenhower once berated General Patton over this issue telling him “I am well aware of the necessity for hardness and toughness on the battle field. … But this does not excuse brutality, abuse of the sick, nor exhibition of uncontrollable temper in front of subordinates”.

the said videos on youtube do not constitute as the whole duration of the chinese military training sir so it does not give the assurance that there is no pain infliction in their training. next, they might be a regular unit but they are said to be training for SERE and training for that is no ordinary at all that even some parts of the training course remains classified.

pain infliction in training is not new to the military world. how the spetsnaz do their training is one example.

Yes, and Russia failing in Afghanistan despite this excellent training is one example too of why this isn't relevant to modern warfare at all whatsoever.

Next, the mere conviction on your part that this sort of thing must be going on in China irrespective of whether or not there is any evidence to back it up is based solely on your faith, like religion it is useless to argue the existence or lack of a God, but what we can agree on is there is no physical evidence that there is one.
