DOH fears that Dengue would spread further although it was reported that the number of cases now has decreased compared to last years figures. But they admitted that the number of cases died in the illness has increased this year unlike the number of cases lastyear. They said that the Dengue cases may be decline for the rainy season is about to end.
Even if the rainy season is about to the end during the last quarter of the year, its still best that we'll all continue cleaning our areas most especially if we have children around us. This illness never chooses who to kill, its better if we are all aware of it and do the preventive measures we know or we are told to do so.
Its better to be safe than never...

don't let water stagnate around your home...
two of my kids were having intermittent fever last week, and within 2 days of the said fever, i already had not only them, but the whole family, including myself, go through a blood test, just to be on the safe side...
Platelet count normally should be 130-400, but if you blood test shows lower than that, head for the ER right away, as you could have dengue....
Always err on the safe side guys!!! whats a couple of hundred pesos for a blood test VS DEATH!!!
plus, another rule i have in my home is DONT KILL LIZARDS OR FROGS!!! they eat mosquitoes that could infect you with dengue... killing lizards and frogs could imbalance your area's ecosystem in favor of mosquitoes that could then breed unchecked...
^ I agree. Prevention is better than cure. We might as well clean our areas before it's too late. If symptoms of dengue fever arise, we should immediately seek professional help. We might be risking our lives just to save some money.
DOH should spearhead the dissemination of information to fight dengue. Good thing that public hospitals have dengue express lanes to answer for the possible dengue victims. Inventories of blood supplies should be effectively executed as well.
That's very untrue. No scientific bases ang mga story sa taga bukid. Wlay sangkap ang papaya against sa dengue virus.Originally Posted by wani

FYI for everyone: Follow the DOH's 4 S's!!!!
a.First S is "search and destroy." Cleaning is not enough. Look for anything that will hold water - old tires, discarded pots of all makes, used cans, and overturn them. This, he said, is Operation Tumba.
b. second S is for "self-protective outfits." Do not allow any part of your body to be unnecessarily exposed. Preferably, wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
c. S is "seek early treatment." At the earliest signs of dengue, especially in dengue-hit areas, bring the patient immediately to the hospital. Most hospitals now in affected areas, on orders of the DOH, are providing a dengue express lanes.
d. S is "Say no to indiscriminate fogging." Many local governments may not agree on this admonition, but the health chief says it might really do more harm than good. Duque advised that if there is no evidence of dengue-infestation, fumigation should not be applied. "This gives a false sense of security. Iisipin nila wag nang maglinis, mag-fogging na lang, thinking that this will drastically reduce the mosquito population."
I agree on this, everyone should really follow this, most especially when you belong to those areas where Dengue already exists. Telling you this, just last week, I got so scared that I have to cancel my important duty because I need and been wanting to go to hospital to have me checked and my blood platelates be counted because I've been having high fevers on afternoons and midnights for 3 days. Fake it was! Thank God, it was just an Upper Track Infection. Basically because of the change in weather conditions.
Really, Prevention is better than cure...!
For dengue fever, use only medicines that are prescribed by the doctor for safety.
theres a plant that can cure dengue. i forgot the name. mangagao or something.. murag ana na name.
yeah sakto si lestat....mangagao ray tambala anang dengue...pero kon grabe na kaayu dili na madala anang mangagao....kanang bag-o pa or gamay pa ang nanggawas...dali ra na ayohon!Originally Posted by lestat1116
DOH has warned the public not to use any other alternative medicines or methods in curing Dengue. they said that they do not recommned any other forms of medications except fpr the rehydration and blood transfusion for severe cases and that there’s no magic for treatment. Hospitals must stick to the (treatment) guidelines and most of all they really don’t recommend complimentary and alternative treatment.
Lets just trusts the experts after all wala naman talagang mawawala sa atin dahil sila naman talaga ang may alam sa sakit na ito. Sometimes kasi the public tends to go to the most cheaper kind of ways of curing the sick, pero yun nga lang, we don't know if it will really work, or before we knew it, its too late and we can do nothing about it but to blame it all to our selves.
