regardless on how intelligent dolphins are some cultures do consider it as food. so before condemning a race for eating the most intelligent marine mammal on earth always keep in mind that some cultures does not approve us on eating. pigs, dogs etc with there own reasons.

i value animal life. but i would never be some radical greenpeace, vegan, hippie, dope crazed lunatics chasing ships and throwing stink bombs to prove a point.

And so is the dog meat trade in the philippines. it is estimated that up to 500,000 thousand dogs are slaughtered every year, but when we ask someone if they ever have dogmeat. most probably only 1-2 out of 10 people had it.

have you ever thought that the documentary is a bit one sided?
that is why i consider the Cove as a Good but not a Great Documentary.
it's painful to accept that there are people that consider these beautiful, intelligent creatures as pests. but still have you also consider why the japanese still do it even when there is virtually (no demand) as "what the documentary trying to prove" for dolphin meat? it's because of there pride.

will you readily accept that an outsider prohibits you to practice your culture and belief just because they see it as wrong, inhumane?

there are steps and changes that has been done for the better because of the documentary. and i commend that, heck i would like that cockfighting will be banned in the philippines. but we absolutely won't see that happen anytime soon...

i'm vegan but i'm no hippie nor dope crazed nor a lunatic. greenpeace, i respect. those folks of the sea shepherd actually are trying to do something and i actually appreciate what they're doing. they're not trying to prove a point but are trying to do what they can for things they believe in. nobody is trying to "convert" anybody. living your life is your choice but try not to offend people as you go about it.

all my friends are not vegan and i respect their choices. being different doesn't mean being a lunatic. or is that what you're trying to imply?

then be a vegan. no one is really forcing here on what they should, or should not be, i have relatives who are grazers, tried it a couple of times but somehow bacon always finds a way in my mouth.
sure not everyone in the greenpeace are radicals. but a lot of them are, if you managed to walk around berkely you'll get my point . though we have different POV on how the sea shepherd's actions are let's just leave it as is.

if you find one's opinion offensive, then that's how it is. you cannot please everyone nor force your beliefs to anyone, you can only share it and hope it sticks. and as long as no rules are broken then i continue to say what i believe in. with much respect.
BTW let me clarify again before anything might get out of hand. i am NOT implying of one's dietary actions as an act of lunacy. it's far from the subject at hand.
