I always love those trees, from my childhood up til now. It is so sad that the government cannot do anything to save those trees. Pwede man sad unta maghimo na lang sila ug parallel highway unta ba ... pero, usahay makahuna huna ko nga safety hazards sad ang mga trees labi na karon nga grabe ang mga typhoons and storms ... unsaon na lang ug ang atong mga kabanay mahusno-an aning mga dagkong sanga, samtang molabay nganha dapit ig panahon sa bagyo ..

there should be an appeal to save this trees. this trees are so valuable.

one way to save these trees is to have a detour road parallel to the existing road. there is always a proper solution to every problem. i just hope to god that our government will be enlightened with such solutions.

keep the trees. they can always divert the road.

Or implement better regulations on vehicle procurement and regulation on top of overhauling our mass transport systems. We cannot keep on widening our roads forever... and in the process destroy remnants of our heritage and history.

In the months ahead, century-old rain trees lining a road section in south Cebu from Naga to Carcar City will be marked for destruction to make way for road widening.

Is that anyway the DPWH, can go around them ?

This is very sad to see the destruction of our environment.

well i hope cloning of big trees will become common soon. only solution i see.

Those trees should not be cut down.. Those are one of the few beautiful places/roads in Cebu
