The current Nuclear plant on Japan that is in crisis now is built to withstand 8.2 (i think) magnitude quake.
Gi antecipate na nah nila being on the ring of fire. na tymingan lang jud nga kusog au to quake last friday.

if naay Nuclear Plant here, agree ko, as long as, dili Pinoy style ang pag manage... dili sad sa pag degrade natong mga pilipino... apilan man gud dayon nag politika...

i laid out lang tanan procedures sa pag transport sa nuclear rods, sa pag dispose sa nuclear materials, sa emergency response if accidents happens... then i anticipate pud tanan natural event like atong sudden flood...

lahi lang jud ang culture sa Japan and sa atoa..
They are willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater gud..
oridinary people sa ilaha, makita jud nimo they love their country and culture.

naa man pud mo sacrifice natong mga pinoy, ang pangutana, pila rapud kabuok?? i should start sa atong government, pero mostly nila ilahang pagpadato ra ang giatiman ^_^

Japanese "endured" the bomb, but nobody would willingly put themselves through something like that. They relied on nuclear power because they have scarce natural resources and with good intentions built reactors which they genuinely thought could withstand a natural disaster. Unfortunately they were wrong.
so how about us? isnt it that we are also had limited/scarce resources? so whats stopping us from going nuclear? cause some people say we cant handle it or they stupidly assume that modern nuclear plants will one day explode like Chernobyl
those radioactive leaks in Japan was made possible by the quake but yet they are handling it well, and those quakes doesnt happen to many areas in the Philippines.

all you say is to abandon any attempt for nuclear power technology, which is a big mistake... its the way to the future. what then when the world runs out of oil or coal? what choices do we have?

Like I said, ang pag mahay naa ra sa katapusan..

Anyway.. I do not agree on having a nuclear plant here..

But since we are in a democratic country.. if we base the voice of our nation using this thread.. I loose..

So go ahead.. but.. ang pagmahay naa ra gyd sa katapusan..

actually gi ban na ni Obama sa US ang coal power plants.. through Environmental Taxation..

So more or less we will have Global Carbon Tax soon..

We just don't have a choice but to go Nuclear..

Oil is not scarce.. although they made it look like it..

but we still don't have a choice.. we are just a small nation basing on per capita..

we don't have a choice but to bowdown to the anglo american establishment..

I'm for it if a foreign company buys it from us and takes care of the rehabilitation. Last I heard, the Koreans were interested in it, so let them have a go. Good luck to us if pinoys operated the thing. Ultimo basic waste disposal dili mahimo.

no need to worry about disposing the waste fuel rods.. we'll just put it on top of the reactor itself.. just like what happened sa japan karon..

    it's boiling like hell..

I'm terrible at sarcasm or you meant you failed to pick up the joke before I even said Made in China? What nuclear reactor says "made in china" in it?

Not all has the same sense of sarcasm. If I find "why did the chicken cross the road" joke funny but you don't find it funny, it doesn't mean your sense of sarcasm is superior. Just how high your horse is? Sarcasm is purely subjective.

Let's stop derailing this discussion. My point stands whether your give-a-f**k sensor failed to detect it or not.
