There is a time for everything.
With the success of the Kpop Convention held in Manila for the past two years as well as the other activities organized by the Philippine Kpop Convention, Inc. (PKCI) that united the local Kpop communities, we had thought that it's about time that we bring the fun to other parts of the Philippines by holding the Kpop Convention tour with its first leg to kick off this March in Cebu.
It is a challenging feat for us at PKCI as the organizing committee is Manila-based, but true to our goal of uniting Kpop enthusiasts and promoting Korean pop culture in the country, we are trying our best to make this event a success.
However, due to some unfortunate events, we feel that the time is not yet ripe for us to hold the convention in Cebu. More than the logistics concerns that we are currently facing, the recent tragedy in Japan has made us realize that we need to help out these people in need more than anything. Which is why even with two weeks left till the most awaited Kpop event in the Visayas, it is with deep regret that we inform everyone of the postponement of the Kpop Convention Tour in Cebu this March 26 to a more favorable date in May. By that time, we would be ready to give you a great time at a Kpop event without feeling like we are insensitive to the more pressing issues the world is facing.
The program and the contests still remain, so for those who are already preparing their explosive numbers to be performed in the song and dance contests, think of this as a blessing in disguise-- you still have a few months to prepare for the competition. We would like to stress that this is just a postponement of the event and not a cancellation. We will have the Kpop Convention tour in Cebu on May. We will announce the exact date as soon as we have finished finalizing everything to give you a great event.
In lieu of this, we will be having a fund-raising drive for Japan and three more activities this summer which will be announced soon.
There is a time for everything and though it may not be the time just yet for the Kpop Convention to happen in Cebu, we believe that this minor setback will just pave the way for a better event in the future.
Thank you and we hope for your understanding and continued support for the events we would be organizing.
