    Default katungod sa ginikanan

    mga amigo ug amiga curious lang ko ug mangayo kog jutay sa inyong panahon pinaagi sa pagpangutana ug unsay katungod sa ginikanan sa decision making sa iyang mga anak. niadtong 2009 man gud ni larga ug ni migrate mi sa USA. pero ang akong anak nga high school grad gusto mopauli sa cebu. gusto sya mopadayon sa iyang college (kuha syag nursing course) sa philippines. ang akoa man gud kay naa man syay maguwang (half brother) nga nagtago tago (tnt) sa USA nga unta ug sa USA sya moeskwela sa madugay nyang pagpuyo mapetition nya ug ma legal na sab iyang igsoon, murag "hitting 2 birds with 1 stone" ba unta. pero di sya mosugot kay kuno iya maning kinabuhi? naay nursing course sa USA ug subsidized ug naay financial aid ang public colleges, meaning murag makaya ra ang tuition. unsa may akong katungod under these circumstances? salamat sa inyong panahon ug opinion.

    in my opinion TS, you can only provide options for your children but not decide in their behalf. it's true that they should decide on their own specially on their chosen profession but never ever decide for them because if they fail, worse case scenario is, they end up blaming you. what you can do is to guide them and give them the pro's and cons.

    i remember my mom wanted me to take up Education but i took up Political Science instead. though i didn't end up being a lawyer but i was able to manage my career. at least, i don't have to blame anyone for it.

    @TS.

    As a parent.. we will always want what's good for a children.. to give them the best and bright future they can ever have....

    But as parents, we love our children so much that we don't want to let our children fall to any kind of problems at all.. we don't like them to get any kind of mistakes that they might regret it at the end..

    But sometimes this same reasons are the reasons why children would rebel to their parents... their children thinks that their parents are choking them.. not giving them time to grow.. to be independent and to have a separate mind of their own.. to feel how to make mistakes and feel how to commit one...

    Just remember sir, Gpadako nato atong anak sa maaung pag amuma.. pero we cannot control the destiny they want to pursue.. nor the dreams they want to achieve..

    Your child or children are not robots that you can program to obey to your orders.. Tao pud na sila...

    if they fall hard, then they fall hard.. as a parent.. you should let your children learn to go for their dreams.. and if they ever need someone to comfort them... be always the comfort zone they can fall back.. when they feel they can't move on anymore..

    A good parent is someone who inculcates the good values to his child.. but leaves the child to experience that value for himself or herself on to the world..

    whatever the consequences it brings to the child. then he knows his dad/mama.. have taught him what life is all about...

    It's a learning process everyday.. don't take that away from them....

    One day.. they will appreciate the good values you taught them as well.. when they themselves will become parents already....
