aw, laptop raman kaha? wa man kaha labot ang iPad? hehehehe. iPad lang ako paliton.
ill advised. as usual.
picture this. they cannot even run after kidnappers and gun runners on unregistered vehicles, knowing that the use of motorcycles and 4-wheeled vehicles are already regulated as they are...
meaning that if a computer device/ SIM card is not properly registered, it won't connect to the network? it's as if there can be no means to tap into the network if your intention is really to tap into it with an unregistered device...
this will admittedly add a layer of difficulty for petty criminals. but this is just a fly to be easily swatted by those who have the full intent to violate the law and commit crimes.
the price, however is tantamount. the basic right to freedom of movement and speech can easily be broached by a police agency who controls the flow of information/communication through this kind of regulation. private lives are also in danger of being exposed to the open as by registry, equals individual identification. any individual's movement can just be pulled up, monitored and filed away for future incriminating evidence, no matter how innocent one's motives were.
