Sci.name: Crocidura negrina
Classification: Mammal
Family: Shrew(Soricidae)
Location/Origin: Cuernos de Negros volcanoes in southern Negros island
Status: Critically endangered


Description/Further information:
The Negros Shrew (Crocidura negrina) is a white-toothed shrew found only on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It is locally called the katsurí and is listed as a critically endangered species due to habitat loss and a restricted range.Total length 139-179 mm; tail 63-83 mm; hind foot 16-18 mm; weight 11-15.5 g. A moderately large shrew. Like all Crocidura, it has tiny eyes, a long, slender and flexible snout, and ears partially hidden within the fur. Suncus murinus is larger, with a thicker, hairier tail.

haha brad, daghan ayo variety sa shrews dini pinas... bisag samo balay daghan na but I think the ones found in negros are different

i've only heard it from a friend.. He claims to have seen those when he had a project in Dakak.. So, I am hoping that people with the proper information here can help me.. I'm curious about snakes..
