But simple math dictates that it is a major contributor to poverty. As an earlier post suggested, it is a simple maths game. Every family only has 2 income earners AT MOST, and some only have 1 income earner and such income has to be divided equally amongst the offspring. Naturally, a family with fewer offspring will be able to dedicate more resources towards the child's education and development.

And it isn't even just about money. Any parent can tell you that a child demands a lot of your free time. There are only 24 hours of the day, no matter how hard the Catholic church tries to make it appear that we miraculously have more. Most of that time is spent sleeping and working. The little time left over, is left for spending time with the kids. If you have more kids, you have even less time to dedicate to each one of them.

It is a numbers game and it boggles the mind how something so simple, basic and common sensical can escape the religious fanatic's mind. Does fanaticism cause mental retardation?
agree sad ko ani. its a numbers game. its really a major contributor to poverty. its as basic as a simple addition and division thing with a simple logic.
    - Family A earns 10,000 monthly with 8 children then thats 1.25k each
    - Family B earns the same amount of 10,000 monthly with 2 children then thats 5k each
    ...which is better?

As said, it always starts from home. Family B is not adding to the problem but Family A is much contributing to the problem.

also the supplies and demand is also a big factor here which depends on the number of consumers. the greater the consumer the higher the demand but with a limited supplies. so prices go higher and many people can barely afford it. and thats because Family A has only 1.25k budget per child. and this Family A consists the majority of the population today.

its juz a simple explanation no need to complicate things.

Ana gyud na' basta sobraan ka religious.. mawala ang other faculties like logic and common sense. lol

I've read and analyzed the arguments sa mga Anti-RHB and the Church and it's obvious nga wala gyud sila mu basa sa bill.

Like I always say... READ the RHB first then let's argue point by point per article sa bill.

Maybe they don't know how to read. Lack of reading comprehension is a notoriously prevalent affliction in this country...

That's one way of looking at it... another way is that... the people are too hungry and preoccupied with their day to day existence to even think about the future.

Add to that the church which denies the people of information on reproductive health education and instead encourages them to have as many kids as possible.. then you have a vicious cycle of poverty and idiocracy where church can easily exert its influence on. Anyway, more people equals more baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals etc etc. It's in the best interest of the church to keep the population poor and stupid because in intellectually mature nations, the role and influence of the church is limited. That's the cold hard truth.

that's because the church wants people to be as ignorant as possible. they want sheep's that they can herd, not people!
