meal worms also known as Tenebrio molitor. Yup gagmay sila as compared sa superworms and they may appear to be more of the reddisch tint. whats nice about them is dali ra i breed kay pwede nimu masagol ang larvae ug adults kay you cant stop the adults from pupating. Superworms on the otherhand are known as Zophobas morio. they grow to around 3 inches and kinahanglan nimu sila bulagon sa ila eggs (they most of the time eat the babies). This kind can even stay as worms for a year for as long as they cant find the right environment and conditions for pupation. To make things short ingun ania pagtell whether mealworm ba or superworm.....put them in the fridge. A mealworm can tolerate cold environments while superworms cant.
To the question nganung daghan nangita ug mealworms than superworms is due to the growing arachnid hobby. mas nindut ilawg ang mealworm kay first - gagmay sila (best for growing arachnids), 2nd - they have high chitin content (best for developing critters also fro chitin production).

yup ingun ana gyud na ila chitin/cover. Most Coleopterans (beetles) of the same family would also have generally the same larval structure and form. Both are actually darkling beetles. Fish can take in any of the two species depende sa size sa imu fish, (say big arrowanas are best fed with superworms than mealworms) mealworms on the other hand aint that healthy to be fed to reptiles(e.g, bearded dragons) coz it causes indigestion due to the thick chitinous cover.
