walay nikon repair center diri sa Cebu, or i believe even sa Pilipins... if you send it to Manila (Columbia-official distributor of nikon products) they will charge you double coz ur using grey market product (compared to CDSC unit) if dili kaya sa ilang technician then they will send it to hongkong and it would take months before nimo makuha...

try to bring it sa Camera care (not official nikon repair center) diri sa Cebu, located siya sa Uptown at Sampaguita Suites (former belvic cinema) naa gamay nga shop diha... basin madala pa nila og repair... prepare lang gyud og dako2x nga mane kay from my experience pagpaayo sa ila sa akong lens na 55-200 nga dili na mo auto focus, they charged me 3500 petot, pero na repair gyud siya... HTH

Yes, if you send to columbia distributors, ma dugay gyud kaayo ma balik. Nikon service in the Philippines is very bad compared to canon. Just try the Cubao place, it may be better.

Best way is send it direct to Hongkong or Singapore if you have friends who can take it there.

Before anything, Check the Shutter Count. Its Easy, just shoot download and check the EXIF using preview on a MAC. If anyone else has the way how to do on a PC please help TS.

-Open photo in Preview
-Click tools -> show inspector
-In inspector, click Exif Tab
-shutter count is under the name "image number"



If its has reached the shutter life you will have to get it replaced.

As for Sensor, after seeing your photo, I have experienced before on a Canon P&S, two times, that the output was ALL WHITE. Sent it to canon service, sensor had to be replaced - maayo na lang it was under warranty (unit bought in HK).

I am not sure, masters correct me if I am wrong. But most likely sensor. Because if Shutter Lag (stuck and dugay mo close) ang lower part unta ang over exposed coz shutter opens upwards right? So closes from top to bottom of image.

Try daw shoot in a darker scene, evening light at ISO 800, wide open (lowest f/stop) and 1/25 na speed.

Hi there. latest up on this is the following:

On Monday (tomorrow), need to call the Columbia Photo Cubao. The repair-store is better compared to the one in Delmonte. It also accepts units from Grey market. This place is highly recommended by many professional Photographers in Metro Manila and abroad as I had the opportunity a review thread at DPP. I also signed up their. Weighing the pros and cons of their advises, il send the item to them, tracked through website and asked quotation for shutter replacement.

As to the shutter, I don't have the MAC software, but I believe this is between or more or less 10k. I am not sure.

As to the Plane promo, yes subscriber ako CEB promo. thanks

the risks of buying used is just that... risk gyud.

mayta brand new with warranty lang para dili masayang ang hard earned money..

thats the risk of buying cheap and second hand.
expensive lesson.

if dili expert sa item better tag along someone who is an expert. the more expensive it is, the more important to have the expert with you.


some times we get a good deal, sometimes it sucks. the pros and cons of buying 2nd hand.
