DVD writer does not write CDs

I have a problem with my external LG dvd writer... the GSA-5163D... because it does not burn any CDs...

I have been burning DVDs for almost a year now with this writer and there is nothing wrong in this case... it works perfectly.

But when I try to burn audio CDs or any CD for that matter, it doesn't work. It keeps asking for a blank CD even if there is already a blank CD in it...

Any ideas?

try to update the firmware, go to LG website and download the latest firmware for the drive.

basin imong g pili pag burn is in dvd format, then imong media g gamit is ordinary cd. d ba naa man kay option.. kung unsa classe imong gusto e burn DVD or CD. try kuno ug choose ang CD ra na option.

Mao mani iyang option ang pag burn sa Nero if ever mao imong gamit na software

1. CD/DVD
2. CD
3. DVD

lagi... CD man ako gigamit nga choice.. actually duha kabuok ako burner..
kahibaw ko unsaon pag burn ug CDs oi.. pero ngano di mani mo burn ang dvd writer ug CD!!!

cg na.. sulbara na ako problema... kai usa nalang ni katuig, di jud ka burn ug CDs... maski kanang mag copy bitaw cd to cd, di gyud!

again... OK ra kung DVDs -- walay problema. CD burning akong problema.

dili maka detect ug CDs ang writer.. maski nag butang kog blank cd then open nako via MyComputer... NO DISC IN DRIVE... if maka detect pana, mo ingon raman blank cd or something like that.. PERO WALA JUD!!!

try this options:


option 1: reflash to downgrade ur firmware daw, if symptom persist try the 2nd option


option 2: use is the bundled software (NERO) that comes with the drive, dont upgrade it... this time, use the original firmware. then also try the latest firmware.

btw wala nimo g set ang region ana sa imong dvd writer?
