DFA doubts UAE will relax new visa rule » Noynoy Aquino Inauguration 2010 » Headlines

Despite the situation of workers in the Middle East, the local recruitment industry is still looking forward to deploying Filipino workers to Iraq.
Recruitment industry leaders said they welcome the government’s efforts to re-assess the existing deployment ban in Iraq.
“The decision is long overdue as private recruitment agencies had advocated the lifting of the ban several months ago in view of the improving peace and order condition there,” a recruitment official said.
Recruitment officials noted that the lifting of the deployment ban would also provide better protection for workers opting to leave the country.
“Legalization of their employment will give them high salaries, proper protection, and welfare measures like war risk insurance and bigger death benefits,” they pointed out.
Labor Secretary Marianito Roque earlier reported that he had asked the Middle East Preparedness Team, headed by former armed forces chief of staff Gen. Roy Cimatu, to reassess the situation in Iraq. - for short the Philippines is even reconsidering of lifting the travel ban to Iraq. A great initiated move from Labor Secretary Marianito Roque.

Personally, it is so hard to expect something from someone which I believe might not be thinking / being expected to maintain a good reputation.

i think that this actually a great move to build stronger ties wit the two countries. yes iraqs reputation was tarnished years back but they are reforming its government.
