I hope you don't mind. Pero para nako dili kaau na reliable nga proof ang imong opinion. Ex. Kung gamiton sa academic programs is nindot.Originally Posted by xrm_racing

It depends. Since MySQL is implemented in C, it follows that compiled programs that directly call the MySQL functions are much faster than interpreted ones. For example, a C program can communicate more efficiently to MySQL than any PHP script can.
PHP scripts use external modules (which are implemented in C) that parses the parameters and passes them to MySQL.

depende lang cguro if where ka comfortable ... better try both in order for you to evaluate properly ...kay ma bias man gud if somebody would just say this one is better or the other one is better ... para sa ako depende lang jud on how you properly design your system from ground up. In some projects I've been assigend in db administration and tried some proprietary DBs to open sourced ones and all went down to proper implementation and design..
Just my two cents!

I guess BadDude is right, I'll try Postgre after I have thoroughly tried MySQL
yeah depende asa ug unsa imu gamitan..
MySQL is faster compared to Postgres in terms of performance. However, MySQL dont have a Stored Procedure feature not like Postgres.
sa akoa lang,
if pang web apps -- MySQL , faster and simplier
complex apps like ERP's and the like -- Postgres
I think MySQL will now support stored procedure kindly update yourself
