i think you are wrong...we can change...thats upt o you and the bands if they want a change...if you want a radical change in the music scene, do your part...support your band and dont just post stupid nonsense on istoray...youre a coward and dont ever hide here...this issue cannot be stopped...if for some reason a there's someone here who got hurt with all the comments, REREAD them over and over again to see how your bands feel...how your audiences feel...how we feel as cyber-junkies...youre doing an awful lot of harm than good...how can you stop a moving electric fanput youre hand between the teeth...

yes. we all have points. but somehow we have to stress something and correct other's point of view in order to move forward and let the others know that what we have corrected is the best and most applicable suggestion for all. this argument shouldnt have started if only this scrupulous organizers had their production in a positive way. maam, since u are in the production outfit, i hope ur idea of helping bands will shed out benefits for all. somehow, if one day u will organize gigs, please see to it that everyone concerned is happy especially if ur production has come into terms with the other people (venue owners, bands, sponsors and the public). one day, this person will surface out as the perpetrator. and we (not only me) make sure that they go down. they are a nuisance to the society and seems to wreck havoc some more. i hope in your production, u dont treat bands like what ive mentioned about those "organizers". the statement of blurting out, "OK RA D MA BAYRAN ANG BANDA BASTA MAKA TUKAR LNG CLA" should be avoided. a lot of the veteran bands and other production outfits are watching out on these people. makabantay raka ana nila maam. soon, ang mga banda mu balibad na anang mga tawhana.

yup. true true. i am also just stating our side bah coz were also organizers and somehow or another we don't want to be generalized diba? we also know when to step down. we have our stand man sad. and about those organizers who does that, well goodluck to them. basta ang amoa as long as makahatag mig gigs sa mga banda na way exposure mao jud na amo goal and at the same time share with them our love for music. sa amoang part we don't have our own sponsors. it's only the venues who have their own sponsors so were not a part of it. kami ra tawn tig hakot ug banda para makatukar sila then we offer free food and drinks cguro kung makakuha namig mga dagkong sponsors mao na na ang time na mahatagn jud namo sila ug share coz kung wala jud igo ra jud ang makuha namo sa pagbayad sa ubang butang. even sa akong pagpagig sa kasadja mangita ra tawn kog banda na makatukar didto and wa koy sweldo or makuha ana.. malingaw pud ra ba kog tan-aw ug tukar2x. mao ra tawn na and besides there's no entrance there and no sponsors so i never ask for anything.
and nienee that's why i gain back the bands respect bcoz i too know how to respect them. give and take bah. salamat sa pagsabot. and i hope to see you in some of our gigs.

Mao ra ni ako ha... if a band draws a crowd.. if they have a decent following (fans), then they deserve a talent fee... at least a cut from what they bring in from the door. Lisod man sab nga ang production dawat limpyo lang.

Mao man ang SOP diri sa amo (I know... this is not Cebu) ... when someone comes in the the door, pangutan-on dayon kung kinsa ilang tuyo, unsa nga banda ilang gi ari. Then those are tallied and counted... inig human sa tanan, the band gets a small cut from the cover fees.

Pero kanang mga bag-o.. or those nga wala pa kaayoy following... the exposure should be enough (as well as the free food and drinks).

One other thing.. the bands can also sell merchandise, CD's, etc sa gigs... they should take advantage of that opportunity.. atay lang sab kaayo kay ang mga tawo, they would rather download or copy the CD rather than to support the band and buy the CD. A lot of you here are guilty of that.... hasol kaayog sigeg pamadlong sa mga taw nga sigeg pangita ug kopya, sigeg pangutana ug asa maka download... BUY THE CD, SUPPORT THE BAND!!!! Malooy mos mga banda nga ga hago ug himo sa mga kanta unya kamo, sige lag pang download.

SAKTO JUD KA EZRA. di man sad gud pwede na tanan matagaan dayon ug tf esp the new ones. kabantay man guro mo kung kinsay gaan ug tf.. diba usually kanang nagdugay na sa scene and at the same time kanang kusog ug hakot sa mga taw. mao ng di jud matagaan tanan ug tf and that's why there is a free beer and food.

We don't really depend or wait on organizers to make the gigs... we try to book the gigs ourselves.. we pass out presskits to clubs and bars and see if we can get a slot in one of their showcase dates.

As far as equipment goes... WE BRING OUR OWN (except, of course, the PA system).. including the drumkit. We are given ample time to setup and tear down our equipments before and after our set.

Although naa say production gigs diri.. dili man gyud ingon-ana ka elaborate mo produce ang mga taw diri unless it's a big deal kinda thing like, let's say, a pinoy band from Pinas comes over here. Dili man sab kalit kalit ang production...of course there's planning involved pero dili ingon ana ka hasol sa Cebu. There are places here that specifically caters to bands and the scene so dili na kaayo hasol. All you have to do is set the date, understand and sign the contract, and you're good to go.

Places like CBGB, ELBOW ROOM, LION'S DEN, etc... they don't require much... Productions outfits merely reserves the venue, book the bands, then advertise. Akong nahibaw-an nga ang deal sa CBGB is that productions cover a certain amount sa bar, if the people aren't drinking much, then the production covers the difference from their own pocket, ... the production also gets 100% of the money coming in from the door... how they're gonna share those with the bands, naa ra na nila ug unsa ang sabot.
