yeah we will work it out. so far I've been corresponding with 48 other pensioners here in the Philippines that have computer contact and we have banded together and sent letters to the govt regarding the problems it will cause our families. thanks friend, I will keep optimistic. In the end it will work out ok. we will just have to relocate to oz if they pass the new rules.
sorry but most people haven't heard of it as the govt is keeping it quiet.
thats why more people need to know, especially those living abroad on thier DSP pensions (especially those with families!).
I think the thread is fair to the aussie govt, especially considering the way they treat the aboriginees, disabled and even the old there. Remember we all pay BIG taxes in Australia. they target minority groups to save meagre dollars while they give unemployed mothers $6000 just for having a baby! or the billions they spent on the home insulation scheme that killed people and had to be removed costing billions more. thats why they are targeting us, because we dont have a voice, our families are not australian citizens and they just dont care about our filipino wives and kids.
anyway the thread is to bring it to peoples attention and gather support for a minority group.
if you have issue on signing leave it be, otherwise just help the man sign the petition....
thankyou friend, and thanks for those who signed it.
Just to dispel any confusion on what the petition is about I changed the link in the first post to the reason why the petition has been arranged. It also has a tab at the bottom of the page to sin the petition.
sorry for any confusion, Im pretty new to computers!
HERES THE CORRECT LINK FOR AN EXPLANATION AND WHERE TO SIGN THE PETITION:

Sir I'm no Aussie or have relatives (though I do have friends) there, but I fully understand your predicament. If I can help with this petition, I most likely will.
TS ngano magool manka.. ilaha sad na.. that is there money, why would you care. That should be spend on there country para maka tuyok..
^^care to read back from page 1 sir? so that you'll know why he would care..
i agree with mlhl@7, its the Australian government right. BTW they are not singling out Filipinos. The new ruling affects every DSP recipients.
whats wrong in staying in Australia and just send the pension money? or just go back every 13 weeks. The changes will not affect DSP recipients who need to leave Australia temporarily, only those who choose to no longer permanently live in Australia.
The 13 week temporary absence rule will remain to allow DSP recipients to legitimately travel overseas for short periods.
Australia had many natural disasters recently and they just wants to be sure that all their money is spent on loyal Australian.
^ ^ try to empathize and maybe you will have a better view of the situation... just my point.
