    @zerk

    nope no cO2 not even plant fertilizers, but come to think of it i've always had a green thumb...heheh maybe it works underwater too

    must have been how i cycled the tank.. this tank is only two months old.. 1st month i just let the filter run with an uncooked shrimp to build up the ammonia and encourage bacterial growth, after that i did a 50% water change then added the plants let the tank cycle for two more weeks then added the fish. the fish have been there for about two weeks. must have done somthing ryt though coz the very first day after i added them, they began to spawn like crazy! and so far ive observed them spawning three times on different occassions, its just sad to see them eat all their eggs though but i dont have the time,resources nor the patience to raise the fry. i had a bad experience raising a single goldfish from infancy to juvenile before, then it died, broke my heart i hand fed it and grew quite attached..

    anyways im in the states and i wasnt able to find good quality plants in all the local fish stores i visited so i decided to order online.. and i had to go for the low-light needing plants considering my mediocre lighting
    im still deciding on what other fish to put with the neon tetras, fish here are expensive though so consider yourself lucky there in the philippines. go the neons for about 2 dollars each

    i also had a couple of fiddler crabs in the tank but i have since then placed them in a tupperware container coz they started eating and dissarranging the plant roots im currently looking for someone to give them away to

    heres a pic of one of them while he was still enjoying tank life...hehehe

    I was at riverfront ganina... a large fraction of a days salary after... i was holding something in my hands ... the details were all so blurry... OMG its an anubias

    I still have to quarantine it though, the coolies in the tank with the anubias have ick. So do the harlequins.

    the crinum look sick but its the first time ive seen them, the leaves look nice with all the crinkling.

    yah, ako mga ranchus na ich pud, damn it! hehehe. didn't quaratine the anubias...

    last time i went 5 pcs of anubias are still available, minus 1 na gipalit ni soggy, so 4 nalang siguro nabilin...

    1 crinum sa usa ka tank super good condition pa, but hadlok ko mupalit kay i have a feeling demanding na sya na plant...

    Based on my "literatures", crinum requires moderate care. One thing that was stressed over and over again was that the plant should never be disturbed once acclimated.

    @Yonch, gi tangtang nimo sa rockwool ang imong anubias?

    Ya, 4 nalang nabilin didto. One anubias in the kuhli tank has a white flowerbud bud hidden among the leaves.

    Good luck with the ick problem! Double the luck if your ick problem is in a planted tank! Triple if you have shrimps in your planted tank!

    @Juan Carlos,
    Great Idea, that moonlight rigging. Allows you to see your fish in their nocturnal behavior. its a really good way to catch troublesome fish.

    yea fish are expensive there but you also get to see fish and plants we only get to dream of here (like a freshwater fiddler!!! heck I didnt even know there are freshwater fiddlers!).

    I remember being in a petsmart store dumbfounded at the sheer variety of fish and plants. I was drooling over a stunning waterfall aquarium/paludarium setup with anubias of every variety i could see. I was actually thinking of ways to bring an a.coffaefolia or an ozelot sword back here. but common sense took over me. T__T

    So I just got me dormant plant bulbs to ease the pain...
