the first was different altogether. 'pray' is directed towards the segment of the population who still believe in the power of prayer, which is not bad if the idea of 'work' is attached to it. it was not necessarily (re)directed to myself as it would be quite absurd to see an atheist pray.

Having said that, it's an undisputable fact that you were counting yourself in the context of what you recently posted (making you a part of that segment your referring hehehe) and not really (re)directing the thought to somebody else... If only you used "YOU OR THEY" instead of "WE" then your explanation would surefly suffice..

i am glad u saw the nuance difference. only shows how observant you are.

you see, the word 'we' (translated as 'kita'/'ato' in cebuano) i use in a rather peculiar way. i carry the usage of the cebuano counterpart as it was translated into english. second person pronoun, you see, is used as a sign of respect in the local vernacular. i do not have intentions of affronting people with using the first person pronoun as long as the need does not present itself that i distinguish what is mine and what is not. it is not intended to deceive, but to impart respect. my apologies if you deemed it otherwise.
