@ article: I find the article rather prideful and a desperate attempt to protect the reputation of their father...its almost insulting the investigation for questioning reyes regarding the AFP anomalies... the achievements of their father are commendable but the probe was not really about achievements.... are they saying that their father was exempted from corruption because he was a 4-star general, he embraced the low ranking soldiers, he graduated from harvard, and so on and so forth? After they will bury their "honorable father" they should be investigated as well... if ever they enjoyed the benefits of reyes alleged pabaon money, then they too shall face the wrath of the Filipino people.... " dili mana sala ni Reyes, kay naa naman nang systemaha daan...." nonetheless, if he benefited from it, he should be stripped from anything that is worth giving him honor... trying to be a good person is a very hard path...but we must do this to normal people to effect change in this country....corruption is nesting at the very core of almost every Filipino that doing and following such ways seems alright... that is reyes.... he may not be the mastermind, he simply go with the flow...instead of rejecting the 50M, he gladly accepted it.... then his defense would ask" kinsa bai dili mudawat anang kwartaha?" if thats the case, this country will never change... that's why putting this system in public is very important to stop this kind of practice....unfortunately for reyes, he cowered to the eternal blanket of the afterlife, from which the living cannot make him squeal anymore.... i say, grill the family...they must know something....and not make reyes a martyr who saved his family and his superiors from the blades of justice...

so kung karon lang na buking ang "PABAON" thing is just clearly says that it exist way before reyes assume CoS? so tama ba? now the question,,ngano wala gi invite ang mga previous CoS under cory ramos ug erap to shed light on the issue? why fucos on CoS under GMAs admin? mao na ang real issue sir...mao nga maka ingon ko nga si reyes gigamit lang sa mga tao nga manimalos..dili ta ka blame ani.possible na frame up lang ni si reyes..

i think telling the truth is more dignifying and rewarding thing to do....accepting that you commit a wrongful act would not put you to shame

Facing the music is the most honorable thing to do.
Committing suicide is really cowardly and it has proven that you can't take the heat no matter how tough of a soldier you are.

But maybe gi threaten siya na patyon iya family if ever more will be revealed and ma implicate ang much bigger (or biggest) fish...still, not a valid reason to commit suicide.

yes, we all do but it is easier said than done. have you been in the corridors of power sir? the money will come to you even without dropping a word and we are not talking thousands here.

unlike private individuals, we have a choice whether to go corporate, be an entrepreneur or work for the government. the military or PMAers on the other hand, have no choice where or how to work. they are always under a politician, so they are at a higher risk to be corrupted compared to other careers.

Probably the most subtle way of putting it would be, he was driven by the system to corruption rather than sucked by the system to corruption.
