yeah... i paid makro's membership fee before of 125.... i think which is reasonable... 700?

most people i know won't pay for it...

i'd have to buy 100 doritos para mabawi ang 700 membership...
this is normal in other countries.. we will come to accept that one day..

    it's all in preference really..
like for me, the beauty products that work for me are usually the imported ones. why?
because wala man ko ka uyon ug local... of course, ug mangarte dapat investment jud..
compared sa Rustan's sa ayala, mas barato ang ilang mga beauty products
for example, Garnier na shampoo and conditioner, Neutrogena body wash, Loreal hair serum,
and Olay facial scrub.. but mu shop ra ghapon ko sa uban stores para sa uban gusto nako na wala didto..

but I buy local products when I can like meat, condiments, some vegetables, cleaning products,
If naa sa SnR pwde paliton ngadto but if it's something like cellophane sa ice imong paliton, or datu puti na suka
aw natural adto jud ka sa Metro mu palit ana..

langawon nalang cguro ng SnR ug naay mu abot Costco or Wallmart diri but it doesnt mean na mahutdan gihapon ug mamalitay sa Gaisano, will it?

    My Opinion:

I welcome S&R for the mere reason there are some products that we don't find in our local groceries but can be purchased here. Although unlike the Costco (same type of store , bulk sale ) in the states that has truly a big difference in pricing if u buy by bulk , S&R do not have the same deal sad to say, it has the same pricing if not a tad higher for imported goods BUT I buy it or people still buy it because we can't get it anywhere in Cebu. That is their strong selling point. In fairness to S&R though, they have a good overall understanding of keeping the place Clean and Tidy, Goods especially herbs , vegetables, meats are properly cooled (ie the really big walk in cooling place for vegetables), that is another selling point, it costs the same elsewhere but I get the freshest goods for my resto. I tried their food too and it aint bad , had the beef roll the other day and beef was fresh, onion and bell pepper crackled in my mouth with full flavor and I tasted 2 kinds of cheeses in it. Overall have a good experience in S&R

S&R will stay open since people will slowly understand if the place is maintained well, quality maintained, they would rather get goods there. Secret is the word "FRESH" and the rule of economics bringing products not found in other stores sell.

Plus special sales like that poster above should bring in the crowd.

Yup. It's till P700 for Gold Membership (limited to one extension). Same as sa Metro Manila outlets nila. Nag-promo lang sila sa una nga pag-open nila nga if you get the P700 Gold Membership, free na ang extension card since the extension card normally costs P400 for the Gold Membership).

So that facts can be settled, just check their site regarding membership -> Membership
