    Mavericks ready to "rent" Anthony?
    By Mark J. Miller

If Carmelo Anthony(notes) would like to get himself away from the Denver Nuggets for the rest of the season and then figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is happy to help him out.
The New York Post reports that Cuban didn't mention Anthony's name specifically, but he was clearly talking about him yesterday at Madison Square Garden.
"Yeah, in a heartbeat. Because then it's up to me to try to convince them to stay," Cuban said, according to the Post. "If everybody wants to give off a great player, we're always going to try to be opportunistic. But those calls typically aren't made. Those happen once every five years or so."

Steve Nash Could Be Headed to The Mavericks or Lakers

The Phoenix Suns need to part ways with Steve Nash.
The team is 10th in the Western Conference at 23-25, and they're two and a half games behind the eighth-place Grizzlies. Even if they somehow squeak into the playoffs, they don't have what it takes to go far.
The Suns had a great run with Nash, but that era is coming to a screeching halt. Over the course of the last several months, Phoenix has lost its top two scorers in Amar'e Stoudemire and Jason Richardson.
If they want to make this a full-scale rebuilding, Steve Nash is the next piece that needs to go.
With that being said, let's explore some possible destinations for the league's best passer.
You already know from the title that we'll be discussing the Mavericks and Lakers. However, there are some other teams that could pursue Nash as well.

Hamilton Played his Last Game with Pistons?

Richard Hamilton believes he will never play another game in a Detroit Pistons uniform.

Hamilton was on the inactive list and in street clothes Friday night as the Pistons claimed a 92-82 victory against the New Jersey Nets. He said after the game that he didn’t expect to see the court again with the Pistons.

“I feel that way,” Hamilton said. “I felt that way once I started sitting, because I really couldn’t do anything about it. When you really can’t do anything about it, you just stay in shape and keep working out and things like that.”

Hamilton was on the inactive list even though he was healthy and the Pistons were without starting shooting guard Rodney Stuckey, who has an injured right shoulder. The Pistons listed the reason Hamilton was inactive as an “internal decision.”

Agent: Anthony will Only Sign with Knicks

Several sources told Yahoo! Sports that Carmelo Anthony’s agent, Leon Rose, has recently begun informing teams that the All-Star forward is interested in signing a contract extension with only the New York Knicks. The stance has weakened the Denver Nuggets’ leverage in trying to deal Anthony, not only to other teams, but also the Knicks.

The sources said the Knicks don’t feel pressed to present a substantial trade offer to the Nuggets because they think they can also sign Anthony after the season if he opts out of his contract, as expected.

“If you’re New York, you just sit and wait until the offseason,” one general manager said. “That’s where it’s likely to go. Why give up assets to get him now when you can wait and get him next season?”

Said another source: “If ’Melo is telling the world he wants to go [to New York], why fight so hard to get him? [Knicks president] Donnie Walsh knows this.”

Though there’s less than three weeks before the Feb. 24 trade deadline, a deal for Anthony isn’t imminent. Sources said the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks still have interest in Anthony despite knowing he doesn’t plan to re-sign with them.

“Don’t blame ’Melo. He’s been up front about wanting to go to New York since the summer,” one source close to the talks said. “They better trade him to New York or end up with nothing.”

And to everyone's surprise, a Rip sighting in Milwaukee.

Came off the bench & scored 11 points (5-8 FG) in the 1st half.

Dude is one of the most physically conditioned player in the league.
