i hope its not too late before you discover the aftermath of not using arctic silver. ahehehe

Bro, artic silver ang leading brand for thermal pastes...Originally Posted by john_yo
if you want to shave off a couple of degrees of temp from ur pc, use arctic silver, but it does not have to be arctic silver, good thermal compounds do the job well (the white ones), using the white ones does not mean you processors are going to get damaged, it will just run a little bit hotter (neglegible). with good air circulation and good heatsink, it will be just fine.
bottomline, got the cash to spend? use arctic silver, on a budget? buy a regular thermal paste, THE "SECRET" is in the application, use just enough to cover the surface, not too much or the compound will smudge out and let dirt stick on them, preventing good airflow around the processors. and when attatching the heatsink, make sure it fits just right and not tilting.. make sure the surface connects squarely with the processor so that it effectively "absorbs the heat off the processor "head", make sure the fans RUN before you close the computer casing(I actually fried quite a few procs back in '97 because i forgot to connect the fans to the board), and give it a test run.
hahaha, i talked too much, bitaw, thermal paste mapalit bsan asa na electronics store, but be carefull sa mga cheapo ones.. theyre designed for transistors with heatsinks (transistor ba tawag ana) which are quite tolerant to heat unlike procs which are a bit sensitive.
mao gyud bro.. pwede gyud ka palit ug generic thermal paste... aplly evenly in paper thin layer for efficient heat transfer.
also when buying generic thermal paste ayaw choose sa mga basaon na tipo... kay basi mao na mag short sa imo board, proc pins, gpu... etc... had a friend na nag gamit ana kay nag inot man sa kwarta... mali pa gyud iya na pili na paste... kabit sa vc gud bye 9600xt..
Para asa man diay na nimo imo thermal paste bai? Mahal man kau if mupalit ka arctic silver and your using it only for your personal desktop computer. Not unless you have an internet cafe para magamit jud. If your into personal lng go for a CPU cooler it has its own paste included. But for your post, much better jud ang arctic silver. Npa tko nahabilin sauna pero ghatag na nuon nako. Ako tato baligya nimo.
ok raba ang generic mga bro i maintained 30 units.... technician ko sa Skul mga ask ko unsay mas maayo na thermal paste...

wat do u mean sa paper thin bro?
kanang nipis kaau. nipis cya pero dli pud murag... mao gyud ni optimized application sa thermal paste... para dali ang pag transfer sa heat... dli na cya mu pondo sa thermal paste, mao ni kng baga kaau ang paste... .
how about arctic ceramique? ok kaha ni cya? P380 sa pcx express.
