if evil is the result of what happens with the absence of god's love in thoughts and in actions because essentially evil is the absence of god

then STILL,
the absence of god when evil happens suggests that he does not have power over it.

eliminates his being omni-present(all-present) and his being omnipotent(all-powerful).

still an unusable concept of a god.

God didn't create evil, God did create Lucifer but God did not create Lucifer's evilness. It was Lucifer's decision to rebel against God and so he was cast out down to earth with all other angels accompanied him.
God knew this things will happen He didnt kill lucifer coz his merciful and loving.

Same as to us, God can't change man's free will that's why he gave us the Love letter (Bible you called it) to make a decision.

still, as the concept of evil that is in lucifer cannot have any origin other than that of his creator, the said concept cannot have any other origin other than god.

god, supposedly the creator of everything, including lucifer and what is in his mind, arguably is the origin of the concept of evil.

@gareb i know that your concept of god is similar with those of vexen, that god as omnipotent as he is denies the free will of man since god has the control over every posible events that man makes..well we all have different thoughts and concepts about the nature of GOD and i respect that..but as for me when my *thoughts and actions* goes way out of context with the basic teachings of GOD (w/c is to love one another) then i can say to myself that i am doing the evil's way....and that basically makes me evil!

possibly. :mrgreen: that is why we need an operational definition of the concept of god, which of course is way out of topic. it is best discussed in another thread. dwelling on the nature of evil is quite a complex case that requires less restraint than this thread holds.

obviously, it is not enough to dissect the problem of evil without touching along theistic disputes. i hope i have given you an idea how weighty the problem of evil is.
