murg mahal rapd da. sa manila naay pa rent pero affordable man. why man dri tawn mahal kaayo? i wouldnt mind giving out my details (IDs and other stuff for identification) as long as credible jud ako intention to rent the unit.

Sadly, the market just doesn't exist for a lens rental company to make a profit. You may be able to do rentals through peer-to-peer networks but with a rental company, I don't see this happening unless there is a lucrative resources for photographers.

Not to mention the potential of the rented gear not returning to the rental company.

If we had a national ID system or the US' SSN then it would become practical.

But as Ian mentioned these companies started off as a group of photographers lending each other their gear then evolved from there.

deposit any 2 valid ID (drivers license, passport, gsis etc,,)
