Help: Hi i'm using canon 500d and i want to set my canon speedlite 430exII as slave...i just like to ask if i can use my built-in flash to command my speedlite and if yes how? thanks thanks thanks

You need a flash that can act as a master for the 430 ex II to function as a slave like a 580 ex / II. 500D does not have this feature built into the camera but the 7D does by using its built in camera flash.

Your cheapest option is to purchase an RF trigger so you can remotely trigger your flash off camera. Check your local vendor for an RF trigger compatible with your flash.
