onin- generally, if the subject is centered, the shot will look "static". this usually happens when you're shooting landscapes, or your subject has to be shown with its background/context. the rule of thirds usually conveys some form of "dynamism" to the shot. a good example is anakin's boracay addict shot. since the banca is on the left 1/3rd, it conveys the impression that it's moving forward, i.e., towards the right.

not really...depends on what your subject is and how you want to compose it....rule of thirds is just a guide, and generally, you'll use it if you want/need to shoot the subject in its context. example is the comparison shot above ni mark. as he asks, which one looks better?

kana it depends... kung group photo, like at a party or reception, then the closer the better so dili na mo apply ang rule of thirds.... kung kanang "tourist" kind of photo, like ang background ang magellan's cross, then you have to move back para ma-apil ang background, so depending on the angle, magamit ang rule of thirds....i-practice lang `pre so you can see the difference and you'll know when to apply it....
