its not a joke at all...stop focusing on certain parts of cebu, if the TS would just really thought about it there are a lot of destinations that make Cebu and besides Hotels and other destinations that are built by private institution to gain income are also part of Cebu. Shouldn't it? I mean in Tokyo, Tokyo tower is a destination that a tourist would want to visit, Disneyland as what you have mentioned in your post is the same as plantation bay that have been improved by private entities that are yearning for income.

You should not really compare Cebu to Japan because even Manila as our capital can't compete in terms of temples, garden, etc because they have money to maintain them were us here have only limited budget FOR NOW... If Im not mistaken, Cebu are renovating some of our parks right now like the plaza independencia.

It's just natural for a person to take long drive to reach Cebu's beaches since they are situated in provinces. Even in Japan, based from experience have only few nice beaches and when we go there it would take us long hours too!

Definitely there are a lot of things that should be improve but You should not make things in a hurry considering that we are a 3rd world country yet Cebu is one of the best destination in the world, isn't that enough to be proud of?

@TS pag chor dha oi. wala man jd nice beaches sa Cebu CITY if that's what you mean.. our beaches are actually closer and easier to go to than if you were in Mainland US.. ka ng naa sa tunga..
It's too bad you don't know Cebu that much nga wala kay ikasulti sa imong foreigner friends..
If I were asked about Cebu, I can go on and on and on...
Cebu isn't a high tech country like Singapore, and there's nothing in that aspect that we can be proud of because we are a third world country, but despite the fact that we are third world, we have a rich culture.
ika hambog giud ang kinai iya sa mga Cebuano. Usually, we are very friendly (at least sa among part sa Cebu ha..ambot lang kaha taga dis-a ka)
Ka ng attitude na ikatawa lang ang problema, it amazes anybody, even fellow Filipinos because that is a Cebuano general trait.
Cebu is like Manila but not quite.. daghan foreigner ganahan because it is a city but we are not so fast-paced. wala ta ga dagan while nag lakaw ta sa dan, but naa pa ta time mag lingi2x ug unsay nindot tan-awn. FYI, Cebu is the most densely populated with foreigners in the whole philippines.
They don't just come to visit, they stay here and live for months and years either to learn english or to get married, or study.
Kana sad diay punko2x.. it's a cebuano trait... bahalag walay kwarta pero enjoy ghapon ang kaon cinowboy miski wala ka kaila sa imong tpad.
and the number one street party in the world, Sinulog.. how many million people (not just Filipinos) flock here every year just to be part of all the craziness.
naa pa daghan ika hambog about Cebu. ma pul-an kag binasa sa mga answers diri..

@junmar4: i agree pud anang tulisan, kawatan ug snatcher na comment nimo. ang kuwang lang jud diri is pagpanindot pajud sa lugar in terms of safety and convenience (i.e police vicinity, proper law enforcement, clean public toilets).

@ TS ironic kaayo nga ang imo username is VISIONARY when you do not have the sight to see Cebu for what it is. Taga Cebu jud kaha ka? judging from the number of posts you have i guess imo ra ni gihimoan jud ug account para makapanglait ka sa Cebu...There are a lot of things you can be proud of and talk about regarding Cebu..A lot of them have pointed out the good things and bad things but still they are things that are everywhere..even in your "Japan".

YOU ARE A PATHETIC CEBUANO if you are one.

Well, let's not just criticize the TS and let's actually discuss what else we could do to improve Cebu's tourism industry. Cebu has a LOT going for it, but there are also problems that need to be addressed.

My favorite suggestion, I already posted this in another thread is to close off an area of Pari-an that includes the Cebu Cathedral and perhaps Plaza Independencia and make it accessible to pedestrian traffic only. Bale Cebu's equivalent of Intramuros.

Another one is the development of Cordova's wetlands. There's a tourist magnet that's right under our noses but we don't realize it. Boat rides, kinghason soup and barbecued eels. Migratory birds pa jud. Ooops, dili naman diay na Cebu City, but if we launch the boats from SRP to Cordova....

    ...for my suggestion...

    Safety jud

    kulang kaayu Police Visibility..

    suwayi suroy 12am-5am....

di ka kita ug police...adto tanan sa presinto..natulog..

I suggest a 24hr..duty..on every corners...labi na mga "tulisan" prone areas.

    Sharooo. !

gamitan pod nang mga police patola ba!
