I don't think I will find myself masturbating infront of a 8-10 inch tablet.
I find the iPad as a fad. But come to think of it, this will be a device that will make people less ignorant about computing. I agree with this idea but I disagree on how Apple pulled off its marketing on this one.
Tablets might take a huge chunk of the market, but I don't they will be replacing your standard desktop/laptop just yet. A lot of us still need that multipurpose machine to do real work. Whether it's desktop publishing, software development, complex CAD design, audio/video editing, or high-end gaming. Tablets like the iPad are fun though for slight web browsing, email, e-book reading, and other media consumption purposes.
i'd prefer the iphone over ipad. XD
para nako ipad is just a big screen iphone.
XD
It's Fad for me, iTouch on Steroids.
and this will replace your regular table.

iPad is too big, considering its a "portable" elec. device.
i prefer the 7" samsung galaxy tab
on topic: yeah. i think its a fad.
I don't believe the iPad (or the tablet for that matter) is just another fad though. I believe Apple have successfully introduced a new category in the market. A device that fits between your smartphone and your laptop. Yes many like Microsoft (and their hardware partners) have tried this tablet form factor before with limited success, so you gotta give Apple some credit here.
And this tablet category is only gonna get bigger. If you paid attention at the recent CES, lots of Android based tablets are on the way including the Motorola Xoom. RIM will be launching their BlackBerry Playbook this year, and lets not forget HP with their WebOS tablet. Even Microsoft is joining in the fun announcing that Windows 8 will be ARM chip friendly. Interesting times indeed.
i thought so...just a fad, di ko palit ani oy mahal kaayo di ko ka afford ari na lang ko sa laptop og old pc malingaw na man ko...pila lang ka months duna na sad lain gadget mutumaw
nope, it's not fad unlike tablet laptops about 3-5 years back.
unlike before, slates or tablets NOW has specific market because it is thinner, compact, faster, portable and with the advent of cloud computing you don't need as much storage.
