scary.. manga-saag na sila ron..
Ok, just to make things clear and final here...WALA'Y MASAAG...
Please read the article again--this issue is just about RUNWAY NUMBERING. OK?
Runway numbers are marked from 01 to 36, kay ngano? Ing ani na...they correspond to directions of a compass...
36 = 0 or 360 degrees
01 = 10 degrees
02 = 20 degrees
03 = 30 degrees
.
.
.
09 = 90 degrees
.
.
.
22 = 220 degrees
Sa ato pa, if a runway was marked 22, it means an airplane has to approach it at 220 degrees, para maka land sa RWY 22, or if the wind is on the other side, sa RWY 04 (which is 40 degrees, kay 360-220 = 40). So, this has NOTHING to do with in-transit travel...this article just has something to do with layers on paint on a runway, and scrubbing off the old paint, and painting a new runway number like 21 (to denote 210 degrees). But, MOST of the time dili gani ni ginabuhat ang pag change sa paint...why? Kay if you notice, 2-digits ra man ang runway numbers, kumpara sa 3-digit numbers sa actual compass heading...sa ato pa, if the change in degrees doesn't reach the tens, then DILI necessary i-change ang PINTAL sa RUNWAY, kay parehas ra man ang 221 degrees ug 220, ang i-paint sa runway kay 22 ra man gihapon..
So wala'y labot ang inflight navigation diri, because that will always remain the same, labi na today nga daghan na kaayo electronic navigational aids.
So I hope dili na ko makabasa pa diri ug post related to "Hala kulba, mag disaster na dyud ni!" kay layo ra sa tinood na, mga dong ug inday.

I wasn't really referring to the compass only. I presume that the polarity flip will cause an electric radiation that would disrupt electronic devices. I had my research and found out that even if that will happen, the magnetic field will still deflect the incoming radiation.sorry about that..
scary ba jud nang mga shifts? or normal that we shouldnt worry about them?
Yes well admittedly in the first few minutes of an actual pole-flip, there might indeed be possible chaos in the air and at sea, but with all the backup and redundant systems present in today's air and sea vehicles, I think the chances for a global disaster is unlikely--I mean, planes DO crash even if the are no pole-reversals--meaning, there are other things that contribute to aircraft/ship disasters, and it may not necessarily be one simple event such as a pole-flip.

Basin lagi in that particular runway sa Florida, the change kay nagsobra sa tens place, like if ang original runway number kay RWY 34, this means the plane has to approach it at 340 to 349 degrees on the compass...now if the original heading was say, 345, and change was just 346, then wala'y need to repaint diba, kay 346 STILL means a runway paint of 34. Pero...pero, if the change was say from 349 to 350, then kana, klaro kaayo na nag change from 40's to 50's, and thus dapat dyud i-repaint nila from 34 to 35.

ok, i got the degrees on the compass thing.. so this wasnt caused by something man-made? like this is perfectly normal that earth's poles are shifting?
unsa tawag sa gigamit nila nga apparatus / device nga nahibawan man nga they need to repaint the numbers?
