Default How do you protect your PC?

I noticed in most internet cafes they use DeepFreeze but some say that Anti-Viruses protect PC's better.
This question has been bothering me for quite some time already.
I also am having my brand new CPU soon and i need help on which one to install.

magtukod kag cafe bro? kung personal lang, i would suggest mag anti-virus lang gyud ka.
IMO, i don't think deepfreeze can be called a protection..but rather it's a management. when activated, mo as-is nalang na imo pc. no software/program can be installed, no downloads, dili ka maka bookmark, dili ka ka create new folder, dili ka mka edit sa files, dili ka mka changed sa settings sa imo pc...well, actually you can do everything that i mention, pero inig restart sa pc, mawala to sila tanan, mo balik sa original state kung asa nimo gi activate ang deepfreeze. imagine how inconvenient it would be kung personal imo pc.

correct me if i am wrong. diba ang deepfreeze kay mureset sa imong settings right before you froze the unit which means walay settings nga mailisan... this also true with viruses i presume. so deepfreeze can also serve as a protection for your PC can it not?

i see your point about how inconvenient deepfreeze could be, but i believe you can set all the settings you want before you freeze it or if you want changes, you can just unfreeze your PC.
but then, if you unfreeze the PC, your PC then becomes vulnerable to viruses, worms and trojans which is not advisable.

here comes the beauty of antiviruses. it protects your PC from any viruses known (as long as you have the paid versions). the downside is it needs updates and may require space from your computer and i also believe that common antiviruses are heavy to load that it slows down your PC especially if it's updating it's database.

seeing that both has the capacity to protect your PC, it all boils down to which one is better.

if against viruses lng, antivirus much better...

IMHO, I have seen some viruses get the better of Deepfreeze.

    a lot of misconception,

deepfreeze cannot be compared to AV. choose your AV well and finetune setting =),
wala pako kita ug personal coputer na g deepfreeze unless shared to people na bisag unsa lay buhaton. like kiosk and internet cafe.
