If auto focus counts, then Nikon didn't follow through. Their old lens won't auto focus when used with their entry level cam bodies.

Betamax -> VCD -> DVD -> Blu-ray -> ?

I guess it's the same for cameras.

The photos shared by tattee shows what this technology is capable of. It would probably be the pros who will dictate whether this technology would replace D-SLRs. I just hope that we can still use our current lenses though. Ako ok ra kay puro ra man manual focus lenses pero what about those Canon L and Nikon equivalent lenses. Nikon I read made sure the film lenses can still be used in Nikon DSLRs but Canon (which I own) didn't. Maypa na Nikon ko da. He he.

Additional info although OT na guro ni, Nikon DLSRs can confirm focus when using manual focus lenses but couldn't measure exposure. Canon on the other hand can't confirm focus when using MF lenses but can measure exposure. I prefer Nikon's as I can always correct exposure during post-processing but I can never make a blurred photo sharp using Lightroom. Hay, kanusa kaha ko makatilaw L.

The micro four thirds (Panasonic and Olympus) have larger sensors than P&S but smaller than DSLR's (APS-C).

The Sony NEX and Samsung NX have APS-C sensors.
