i attended the canon photomarathon 2010 and i can say na BIG time gyud ning canon when it comes to sponsoring events. wearing any canon printed stuff for me is no biggie. the Vest bothers me more due to the fact that it'll be too big for me

As of 11:45am ganina akong # nakuha is 100 - 105, ingon si Audie nga within this week daw ang canon vest or next week daw, ingon pod sila base sa istorya adtong mga tao sa sulod nga one-size ang canon vest for lalaki, one-size rapod sa babae. Akong gihikap-hikap ang tela sa canon vest gigamit init jud cya isul-ob.

ako as a NIKON user, di nlang ko magsakit sa rules sa SF. mu follow nlang ko. gi instill nlang nako sa akong mind nga CANON is doing its very best para ma promote ilang brand. brand nga kailanman dili kayang mu tapat sa NIKON. kitakits sa Sinulog guys. Pit Senyor!

A long time photographer from IMAGES once told me, if you don't like the rules, then don't join. Which is true. By joining the contest we fill in a piece of paper diba? Did you guys read the print? The fine print? By signing that piece of paper, you agree to waive some of your rights by following the terms and conditions written in that piece of paper. It's something like enrolling to a university where you don't get to wear what you want and instead you wear the official uniform of the school with the school's logo on it. By enrolling, you waived your right to your choice of clothing when you're inside the school's premises.

Me, even if it says Nikon on that vest, I'll wear it if required. If it's not about the brand then even if nothing is printed on that vest, if SF says you need to wear this vest, then I have no choice, I'll wear it. I walked the Scott Kelby Photowalk with a big PHOTOSHOP name in front of my shirt and the PCC name at the back. No complaints from me. The issue here is not about us having our rights taken away from us. It's not about turning us into walking billboards. Nobody complained about us being walking billboards when we were made to wear Kulas Shirt. The photo contest is not compulsory. Just because we paid P750.00 doesn't mean we can now wear or do what we want. There are rules and wearing the vest is one of them.

But if you guys here feel that you've been wronged, then please forward your case to the right agency/people/department. I strongly agree with genghis2510. Nothing will happen by posting here in iSTORYA.NET. No matter what you post here in the forum, on SINULOG day, you will still need to wear the vest you hate so much. Hate it all you want, but nothing will change by posting here. You can rant until this thread reaches page 1,000,000 and still nothing will change. By bringing your complaint to DTI the best thing you can get is probably a refund of your P750.00 lol.

7. I still think that 2 photos per category is a TOTAL RIP OFF... ma pugos jud ka mu bayad ug 30 per additional photo! ka MAHAL na sa 750 nya 2 photos lang? grabe pud ni oi... DILI ra sad cguro 2 ra jud akong nindot nga photo oi!!!!

While I have to agree that the price seems high I would actually say that there should be only one entry per category per photographer.
This would level the playing field and also make judging easier.
Right now people with a lot of money enter 100 or more pictures which will give them more chances to be picked. I just cannot believe that the judges are actually looking at all the pictures entered, there are just too many.
With only one entry per category there will also more photographers winning since you can only win once per category.

I'm not really surprised that the vest started another Canon vs Nikon thing but looking at the past years most of us are wearing backpacks so you won't see much of the vest anyway.

I agree with u bai... But pwede man gud mu buy ug additional entry sa photo contest a.k.a "raffle" alkansi ta sa mga lawm ug bulsa ani... more chances of winning... at least lang ta, ako nga ala-ot ug dili master sa photography... maka submit ug more than 2... para di nako maka add ug bayad... Last year pag submit nako naa gani naka bayad ug more than 1000 pesos for his additional entries... naka hilak ko... hahaha i hope naka daug to cya... lolz

Maayo unta nga FIX ang number of entries & no addition buy in. (murag poker) ahahahaha para level jd ang playing field.. but sadly pwede man mu palit "to generate more funds" sa SF... its a money making option...hehehehehe hahayz...

PS: if u have read sa mga old post sa sinulog 2010 nga thread... there were complains also about the fairness sa judging... daghan jd complains i hope we can be united all to be heard... kay cge lang tag dawat sa ilang mga mando ani w/o considering US photographers...
