Impeachment Part II

Administration allies are again gloating over their assassination of the second complaint, with some of them claiming it was a blow for democracy, with the rule of the majority being upheld.

Rep. Simeon Datumanong, with a twisted logic rationalized that it was no a numbers game but a reinforcement to the principle the greater number is for the greater good.

True, democracy is also a numbers game, but it is never advanced when the numbers are used to assassinate a very important principle in democracy: the accountability of elected officials, from the President down to members of Congress, to the sovereign people who elected them.

I wont speak for that. Besides, It would be self serving for me to claim. The best thing for you to do is ask my neighbors who is istoryador in the community.

Anyway I have question for you.

Is there anything illegal of what I am advocating should the impeachment be trashed?

... again, there are more pressing issues than this impeachment in which was already thrown out the window, twice now.

granting that the administration has the numbers and by changing the rules of impeachment -if there is such a thing- would make the playing field even; the next 300 some odd days would determine if the opposition are serious in their push for impeachment. until such time that I see AN EFFORT where a congressman passes a bill to change some of the blah blah blah in the impeachment process EVEN IF THEY'RE CLEARLY OUTNUMBERED AND OUT-VOTED, then I'll just look at the filing of another impeachment a waste of money. by then we'll see their true colors, by then we'll know if their intentions are for the greater good, or maybe.. they're just yapping for their own advancement and their own selfish agenda. talk about media coverage, media exposure.. tsk tsk.

And why would you speculate the intentions of Congressmen who filed the impeachment? Whether it will prosper or not as a democratic country with public accountability should be given paramount consideration, the filing of an impeachment complaint is part of our duty as a people in declaring to the entire nation that we donst sit down and do nothing if a public official commit a wrongdoing.

Its not the question whether it will succeed. Its a question of safeguarding our rights and values in a democratic society.

the killing of the impeachment did not answer the charges... they never did.

for as long as the charges are not answer... to me she does not deserve the truth and respect that should be given to a leader.

we all know she was the one talking to Garci. some are just a fan of her, for being brilliant.

just my opinion, there's nothing wrong with continuing the battle as long as the opposition knows they have a fighting chance. the way I see it, they're just going to a battle without bringing firearms or worse, blindfolded. they should start now in looking at the angles where they have a chance of having the impeachment complaint reach the senate and be heard. either by making a bill to ratify -if possible- whatever part of the impeacment process they almost always fail "the numbers game". do some research on, find loopholes or whatever legal stuff that's needed so the next impeachment won't suffer the same fate as the previous two.

but if they just sit on their arse and be complacent for a year, they're just clearly wasting our money.

that's the best they can do now... but i guess if the opp congressman move to revise the rules in the 13th congress, it will still be trash... considering the numbers.
