this is what we call as, "The law might be harsh but it is still the law..."

the court is governed by facts and not by emotions, the SC just reviewed the documents available gathered by the lower court during the trial, then lots of loopholes were found in the testimonies of Jessica Alfaro so reasonable doubts were established on her testimonies.

the constitution states that a person should be convicted beyond reasonable doubt meaning there should be no iota of doubt on the evidence against him. then comes Jessica Alfaro whose tertimonies were full of doubts, so the next logical thing that will happen is for the case against Webb, et al, to be dropped and that what happens now...

Jessica on the run, says US neighbor - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos

Jessica Alfaro is Hiding! - PinoyExchange

Now, nganong modagan man cya if kabalo cya na sakto iyang gi ingn sa korte beh?

Yup, this all boils down to Jessica Alfaro. No matter how good your case against a suspect but if the witness you are using is deffective then the case buildup made will be useless...
    ha ha ha..

mamasa tag news oi.. naa man diay diri mga nagbasa jud ug news o..

The case was only standing on Alfaro's sole testimony. That's all the prosecution is holding on, so no wonder m.acquit jd sila.

Now, I know you guys know who and what Alfaro is. if not, then read the news, En Banc, etc.

The DNA from the semen, it could have been the sole clear evidence for this case. If it wasn't Webb's then he's innocent, if it was then he's guilty. Maybe it "got lost" because it might break Alfaro's testimony that Webb raped Carmela, or the other way around. It's either the NBI or Webb who threw the evidence away.

Daghan jud wa gabasa diri og news... The 4 justices nganu wa ni vote? LOL! Read the news, back read the thread posts.

The decision might be right but it takes 15 years to make one is still a joke. Just by reviewing the case.
it could be our Police is also incompetent during the crime scene failed to gather vital evidences.
In other words everything in the justice system is epic fail.

Justice is not about sympathy man gud, it's about weighing evidences baya. ibutang ta lang nga luoy si Mr. Vzconde, Ok luoy siya naa nko diha, pero bisan unsaon ug tan-aw kay mas lig-on man gud ug evidence ang defense panel so dapat lang jud i-acquit ang mga suspect kay unfair man pud sa ilang side nga mas lig-on ug mas katuohan ilang mga ebidensya nya i-incarcerate gihapon sila.

I'm not saying that Hubert and all his co-accused are innocent, all I say is that lig-on jud ilang ebidensya compared sa mga ebidensya sa prosecution so dapat lang jud sila ma acquit kung legalities lang jud ang ipatuman. Just my two cents!

Justice isn't about sympathy.. you're right. But the Court in this case was sympathetic for the Webbs. They pulled all stops to make the case fit their conclusions. Money buys sympathy, just ask Imelda Marcos and the only-in-the-Philippines "second motion for reconsideration" invention of our courts. I say invention because no other court in the world accepts non-finality of High Court decisions. Apparently, our Supreme Court Justices are careless *****s who need a second or even third motion for reconsideration before making the correct decision. You people really shouldn't be defending our justice system. I can understand some of you want to be nationalistic and love your country, but our justice system does not deserve either our love nor respect because it is garbage and is laughed at by other countries.
