I've seen many individuals selling "Jumbo" Emperor scorpions lately....
I would just like to clarify about the "Jumbo" term applied to these emperor scorpions.
These "Jumbos" scorpions most likely came from mangsky of PPF.
Here's what he posted in his thread at PPF:
"PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE TERM JUMBO REFERS TO A BATCH OF EMPERORS I SOLD A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT WERE HUGE. THESE ARE NOT - I REPEAT NOT A MORPH, NOT A SUBSPECIES AND MOST DEFINITELY NOT A DIFFERENT SPECIES OF IMPERATORS. THEY WERE HUGE BECAUSE THEY WERE WILD CAUGHT AND PROBABLY OLD SPECIMENS ALREADY IN THE WILD."..mangsky
I have bought 2 pairs from him (Nov. 2009), and both males are already dead due to old age (last male died July 24, 2010).
Also the slings of these "Jumbo" emperors scorpions are not guaranteed to be "Jumbos" also. But only time will tell if they will become "Jumbos".
I don't want to discourage people buying emperors or disparage the sellers, I just don't want you to expect too much about its size being much bigger than normal emperor scorpions.
Prices are the sellers privilege and the buyers decision.
One thing for sure though, emperor scorpions is still one of the biggest scorpions out there and the most docile. It is still the best scorpion for beginners.
