Microsoft's Xbox Leads U.S. Video-Game Sales in November as Wii Recovers
Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, helped by its Kinect motion-capture controller, was the best-selling video-game console in the U.S. for the sixth consecutive month, the company said.
The Redmond, Washington-based software company sold 1.37 million Xbox consoles in November, David Dennis, group product manager with Xbox, said today citing statistics from researcher NPD Group Inc.
Nintendo Co.’s Wii sales gained 0.8 percent to 1.27 million units, the company said separately. Sony Corp.’s PS3 sales fell 25 percent to 530,000 units from a year earlier, when the company cut prices, Morgan Stanley said, citing NPD data.

Kinect already best-selling accessory for 2010
Kinect for the Xbox 360 may have only just been released at the beginning of November but it is already the best selling accessory for 2010 according to NPD.
Exact North American sales figures for Kinect are unknown right now but NPD's Anita Frazier said that the motion sensor was largely responsible for the 69 percent growth in accessory sales over November 2009, representing $413.3 million. Microsoft previously proclaimed that Kinect passed 2.5 million units sold over the Black Friday weekend.
Sales of the PS Move for the Playstation 3 are also unknown but Sony has claimed to have shipped 4.1 million units worldwide. How that is divided up between starter kits and individual controllers is also unknown but obviously the Move also had a positive effect on sales for the month of November.
Expect both the Kinect sensor and Playstation Move to be in short supply through the rest of the holiday shopping season.
