why do u want to give vitamin C to your dog?
Vitamin C boosts immunity, so its good to use it adjunct with medication when your dog has a weakened immune system due to infection, surgery etc. Just give an ample dose. I give vitamin C at 5mg per pound body weight of the dog. You can lower the dosage if your dog experiences an upset stomach/diarrhea. Check with your veterinarian with regards to dosage, but normal dosage should be around 250-500 mg per day for a medium-large sized dog.
Dogs produce their own vitamin C in their system, unlike us humans, so if your dog is healthy, eating good quality dogfood and have no other underlying medical conditions (e.g. hip dysplasia, bone/joint defects), you can skip giving them vitamin c, or rather give multivitamins if you really want to supplement your dog.
