"We had *** education in high school. And yet a lot of women in our class got pregnant during their teenage years and three women in our class alone underwent abortion. *** education and information does not really work. In the USA, they have free access to information and contraceptives and YET THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF TEEN PREGNANCY IN THE WORLD. Our idiotic government did not do their research well before passing this bill. *** education and access to the contraceptives are definitely NOT the SOLUTION.

Edcel Lagman just made this bill because he will receive a lot of kickback and money from the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture contraceptives. Those companies are the ones backing this up, not the Filipino people." just a thought i want to share...

So now you think you can read the mind of the bishops and the Pope? Don't give me that garbage. That isn't even an argument.

In fact, you just admitted that the Church is NOT forcing anyone. YOU JUST SHOT YOURSELF IN THE FOOT!

by allowing other groups such as the catholic church to call the shots then it becomes one-sided by favoring one religious/political group over another...
That's what freedom of speech and democracy is all about. Let everyone offer their side and let the people choose. Why? Are you afraid that your population control ideology won't be taught be anyone? Or that people won't choose to attend the pro-RH propaganda classes?

The RH/Abortion bill does not even allow freedom of speech. That is why section 22 of the bill punishes those who speak out against it with imprisonment and fines! What a load of totalitarian garbage!

That alone is a good enough, purely non-religious reason to scrap the bill. It is obvious that the bill's authors are trying to force a foreign populatin control ideology down Filipinos' throats.

The RH/Abortion bill isn't wrong because the Chiurch says so. The bill is objectively bad for the country even on purely secular, non-religious grounds, and that is one of the reasons why the Church opposes it.

on the *** education issue i think its counterproductive. in the sense that it would somehow encourage young ones to venture in such act. plus these young people are still very curious or shall we say very active when it comes to that.

i dont know what will be the contents of that s3x education but if i were on that session my mind would probably go somewhere other than what is really taught in the classroom.

i dont what will be the best move to educate our youth its just that morality nowadays is just a thing of the past young ones are getting liberated. telling them about premarital s3x is a sin in their minds but when surge of hormones sets in then nothing can stop it. mapugngan pa ang baha kysa biga

about the bolded parts its a fact that these companies will gain something out of this bill but its not right to say that the Filipino people are not agreeable on the Bill as well. take a look at the surveys. i think its a resounding yes on most parts of the country except for the church.

From what I have read it's still under debate..and some of us agree with the RH bill and some (mostly catholics) are not into this. They said it's misleading somehow and does not want their TAX to support the gov't in promoting the RH bill..im just saying.

    As quoted:
"True education is a real answer to any problem, but RH bill is not about education but miseducation. What it wants to impart are wrong information that would serve to satisfy eugenicists, and would profit the contraceptive and abortion industry. Planned Parenthood’s 3.5 billion taxpayers’ dollars just since 1987 is the most crystal proof of this. And where do they use it? For education, supposed to be; but they are using it to kill babies instead. Do American protesters win? No! The government is on the side of PPF and PPF backs up Obama in particular. Now, don’t give me that naive answer that we are not America. Almost the whole world is America. Look at yourself and tell me that you are not America."

a debate is not the survey. yes its still under debate as what a bill should undergo but it doesnt mean that is not what most of the populace really wanted. as far as i can go up to this point not only in this forum but also what i read from the news that most of the Filipinos wanted to stop or minimize our population growth and thus supported for the RH bill. but as a catholic nation as our country is, then abortion is a NoNo. i support this bill and not the legalization of abortion.
