proper way of caring puppies is the same way treating a baby. change diapers, monitor breast feeding and others especially keeping away from sickness. fungi infections occurs on babies too. but dogs gets more affected because they wear nothing. keep away your mimau from the streets because you'll never know your neighbors dogs contaminates viral problems

Fungi that cause infections are everywhere and even if you think you have done almost everything to keep your dog healthy, there are just times that they get it. Most of the times, it's hard to treat fungal infections and even frustrating, coz after all the medications and you think your dog has recovered, the next day, you see him scratching again and bumps start re-appearing!

Fungal infections are common to dogs that have a weakened immune system... like my dogs, they got it after giving birth because of the stress of pregnancy and taking care and nursing their puppies, which depletes most of the nutrients they get so its hard for them to fight off infections... However, there are also fungi that even though dogs are healthy, they still cause disease. This is applicable to bacteria too and not just fungi.

    What you can do:

Give them proper nutrition from food. Vitamins and supplements are ok too. If your dog has an underlying infection or a weakened immune system, try supplementing Vitamin C. I always give Vit. C to my dogs who have an infection alongside with their medications. For dogs with fungal infection, I suggest you shift to a hypoallergenic diet, make sure he/she does not eat anything that he is allergic to, or as much as possible don't give foods that are known to cause allergies coz that will just worsen the condition. Id also would want to give them essential fatty acids such as omega 3 and 6 and go on with medicated/antifungal shampoo.

Avoid letting your puppy play in the soil, especially in damp, moist soil or in mud puddles. The don't only get fungi here, they can also get pathogenic bacteria and even parasites. But since they are dogs and they still need playtime, just make sure they play in a clean area, or when you go for a walk, make sure you don't let him near any dog poo, bird droppings, garbage etc.

Regular bathing- once a week is ok. when you bathe him, make sure you dry him up thoroughly, and always make sure that the collar he's wearing is dry too.

Don't scrimp on vaccines, dewormings, etc.

Provide your puppy a clean place to stay. If he is in a cage, make sure it is always clean and dry. Always provide a clean bowl of water.

Regular exercise according to your dog's needs. some dogs need plenty of it while others just need moderate exercise.

Regular visits and check up with a good veterinarian is also a good way to monitor your dog's health.

    Hope this helps!
