first to look at is the size of the violin.there's a 3/4 size, 1/2 and 1/4. it depends on the size of your 12 year old daughter. Check and see if she can reach the scroll (tip of the violin) comfortably. If she does, then that size if good for her.
Entry level brands like Cremona, Hoffner. I think, these are available in JB Music shop in SM city cebu, for brand new units.
For second hand units, i think you just have to check out if these have cracks and if the strings are not too hard to press against the finger board.
good luck and be proud of your 12 year old kid bro!
she is big for her age bro, she is 5' 6" now. i think a 4/4 size is perfect fit for her. she has amazing musical talent as she has been playing the piano since she was 3. she learns whatever instrument she lays her hands on and i have quite a few here in the house. she has been asking for a violin. i just feel one would make a fine christmas gift.
i know almost nothing about violins, as i play the classical guitar and piano. thanks for the response bro.
wow, your daughter must be a music wizard... it's very good that she has very supportive parents.
congrats bro!
