A lot of good stuff from Berry huh? The Romanov Prophecy is actually nice, its the first and only thing I get to read from Berry. Although his type of story-telling is lesser electricity than Brown (based on what I have read so far) but the guy show promise to stir interest. Try the Rule of Four also. Its also very nice although there will be chapters that can be quite dragging but its endurable. Perhaps with me coz I get to relate myself with the character in the story.

By the way, are you guys only interested in novels? Have you tried docs? I am reading The Jesus Dynasty right now. It is also quite interesting if you are interested in research and logic.

@IceInHell: I've read Rule of Four too. It's about a mysterious book called Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, right? I usually dig historical novels.

@gywn: Max Soliven is also a major admirer of Gibran.

The Jesus Dynasty, from the title itself, is a book that tries to research on the roots and the Dynasty of Jesus. It tells us about Jesus ancestors and his immediate family (his brothers and sisters). Its the first book that I get to read that gets to mention Jesus' suspected real father, Pantheras, possibly a Roman soldier (as suggested by the author). I did a few research on this on the net and the search engine was able to pop out interesting stories about this Pantheras character. It also traces out the reason why Jesus is illegible for the title "King of the Jews". It mentions the connection (blood affinity) of Jesus and John the Baptist.

I'm not saying that I believe what this book gets to say nor do I refuse to believe. I think I should reserve my judgement on this one.

The Rule of Four: Yeh, its about the Hypnerotomachia Poliphilli, the enigmatic book that seems to hide secrets in its pages. If you have read The Rule of Four, I suggest you also read The Real Rule of Four.

i forgot the author of "The Real Rule of Four". sorry. But it is like "Cracking the Da Vinci Code". Kinda like telling you which one is true and which part is fiction. I just love the part when it explains the suspects as to who wrote the Hypnerotomachia Polopihilli. There were 2 major suspects, one is a friar and the other is a Roman Artistocrat whose house bears the symbol of the crowned siren....the one that appears in the starbucks logo.

Yeh...I heard about The Solomon Key. But didn't Dan Brown denied this or something?

he's so formulaic tho... the backgrounds are not lush but the pacing is hollywood-built... a reluctant hero, a smart beautiful damsel, a vicious killer on the hunt, a conspiracy, a puzzle to be solved... all these cookie-cutter plots already humming in our brains... and then we read the book... brain satisfied with the formula yet again... dan brown's books are a good read, but certainly not great...

Its a very subjective comment. What is great for you may not be great for me kinda-sort-of-thing. But still, I believe Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series are very interesting books considering they are well-researched (though some are not accurate) to play within the plot and quite brave enough considering that he knows he will earn the flare of the church. So, its not just the hero, damsel, conspiracy, puzzle content but the historical facts that he gets to twist within his plot and make it quite believable. Although, those historical conspiracy theories he has are not original but still, its educational and it does click the right trigger.
