Yup, in HDR that's the #1 thing to avoid, the halos..HDR is supposed to make your photos look as close to what your eyes can see in actuality..or as real as possible..not surreal..

you can get rid of those halos in Photomatix with Light Smoothing control..set it to high..

here's an example of (for me) is a perfectly done HDR: (this is not my image)

hahaha..imoha sd na, lahi2 mn ta og taste..hehe..pra nko ky mao jd na na kind of details na imo mkita in actuality that your camera's sensor can't capture in one shot, so it's near to what my eyes' extra extra high dynamic range would probably see when I'm actually there that HDR photos can at least recreate, rather than seeing these individual shots..

thanks sa inputs guys (special thanks to nowayl), it helps jud, i was new to this stuff pa gyud hehe.

re: that 'halo' mao jud na akong blema, i intentionally lower the smoothing to have a 'cartoonish' effect sa mga barko sa loyo (own preference), but by doing so, mo 'halo' jud ang white sa bike hehe wala pako ka figure out unsaon na nga situation di pasad kaayu ko ka timaan sa effect sa mga adjustment bars sa photomatix, if you have good source explaining each item please share pod

BroWooden, kung ganahan gyud ka ani nga effect pero problema lang ka halo sa bike, you can correct it sa CS5 or Lightroom by using dodge and burn technique. Wagtang na segurado Bro ... hehe
