It couldn't have been a missile; it was clearly a jet contrail. He compared several pictures of jet contrails and actual missile launches. Clearly different pics.
I smell 'media sensationalism' all over this story.

The guy this time explains it using mathematics (specifically geometry).
Most contrails look vertical because we are looking at it from an angle.
