    for me, the best way to value and reciprocate my parents for all their sacrifices to send me to school is simple;

    i gave them good grades and graduated with flying colors!
    while i was still studying, i sleep less just to study and show them that their investments were not put to waste

    now that am working i give them a chunk of what i earn.
    hehehe.. its payback time!!

    i give value to my dad's sacrifice by being a good person, and always continuing the effort to become a much better person. i give him respect, i stay out of trouble, i graduated college, i try my best to live my life with sense and purpose.

    i do not believe in giving back to parents thru monetary or material things because we feel obligated to because of their sacrifices. that should not be. it is not a child's obligation. parents should not expect that just because they supported their children..their children should one day return all that they have done as if it's "payback time." after all, it is their responsibility in the first place as parents.
